I need some Ideas for some different "classes" for my car show. I don't want your typical classes like "best red 57 chevy" or "best red camaro".I want some fun stuff.I've got a neat beater award made with a old pair of bongos that I pinstriped and painted and a trophy for the coolest chopped top made from a old hatchet. Does anyone have any ideas?

anyone that brings a crying child doll that leans against the car deserves a trophy and to be carried around the show on the shoulders of the other car owners.

Best lines- for pinstriping on the ride
roughest ride- for the car/truck that is driven but needs the most work(or most potential whatever sounds best)

spectators choice-chosen by the spectators
participants choice- chosen by the participants

Most every show does a best ford, chevy, mopar. How about a best "Huh?" for orphans or those indeterminate creations. A trophy shaped like a question mark.

how bout best bug catcher- for a convertable, get a set of chattering teeth and squish some bugs on them

most unlikely award - give it to the person least likely to win any award

rusty nuts- give to the person with the most surface rust

Bound and Gag'd- give to the person with the most body filler in their ride, could make it from an empty Bond-o can

Gay Trailer queen- Give to the person that trailers the car only to take it off and drive it around like they drove to the show or something, just get one of those cheap childrens boas from walmart and drap it over their ride while their not with it then anouce the winner and direct people to check out the car to see its award. I don't have anything against someone who trailers their car if they need to but if you trailer it and then try to hide the fact that you trailed it then you get the " Gay Trailer Queen Award"

One of the things I do like about the KKOA Dennison thing is the awards like "best headlights" or "best use of trim from a different kind of car".

You could even take it a little further: Best use of a part originally intended for a different purpose" (like using a piston for a shift knob, but more creative than that... like using a heater box for an air cleaner... those kinds of things)

You could also do "greenest paint" or "most colorful Mexican Blanket interior".

I have also thought it would be cool to have a "Just Because I Said So Award" given out because the "judge" just wanted to.

How 'bout the "Junk in the Trunk" award?

It could be your choice of possible ways to win.

1. You brought alot of shit w/you to the show - actually have alot of "junk" in your trunk...

2. The biggest, fattest, most obnoxiously large car there.

3. A really cool custom car the has that neat-o rear-ward lean that gives a custom the just right ass dragging attitude.

Best Sign award for the guy who gives the best credit to the guys who really did the work.

I like the "Because I like it" award. Especially if you get somebody good to give them out and sign 'em.

I use to make some "Long Distance" awards for the club out of con rods by stretching them about 10". Did the same with a spark plug one year, just found something that looked like porcelin and made the plub about 10" long.

This is my first post to the H.A.M.B.

We gave a $100 check to the youngest registerd participant at our show this year. Won by a kid 16 years, 4 months old driving a red oxide '29 a pickup he and his dad just got on the road the day before the show. The kid sent us a thank you card the next week. "Keep the sport alive" award was what we called it

We held our first swapmeet&car show last summer here in Finland and we ended up with only one award. We planned that we`ll give it to a car that thrills us organizers the most. Just want to say: Keep it simple. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

- Lowest Ride
- Rustiest Ride
- Show promoters favorite ride
- Owner of car whose g-friend/wife you'd like to ride. I would use a 10 inch dildo for this particular award...but that's just me.

Daddyo54, I attend a lot of shows here in the midwest. I do not like any "BEST" trophies. These tend to piss off a lot of people. I don't even raise my hood unless someone wants to look at my engine. Don't even have an enterior.(old 60's drag car) Sit's outside ALL the time. Painted in 1976 with Imron(tm). Not a show car by any standards but occasionally still gets a trophy. That means a lot to me because it's not BEST of anything. Just because someone liked it? I hope so.

Keep it simple. Award people with "feel good" trophies.

Everyone has done the best they could to thier rod.

My .02 cents worth, McCray

Small steering wheel of kid's ride toy, mounted on a shaft so it turn's, to be used for long distance entry. Or interior award as well. A vintage shoe box with a dash of Safarinut like artwork and some wheel's mounted on it for: Neatest Shoebox.

How about for the biggest smoker a couple wads of steel wool, wire mesh, and 2 hose clamps. stuff the wool up the pipe, mesh, hose clamp tail pipe and your smoke will be gone! but he'll have some serious back preasure !
