What do you all think?

I'm only twenty and I think the red on white is a bit harsh. My eyes are getting tired very fast.

I've only looked around a little, but I think I like the old stand-by black better. There's just something about the red that is hard to adjust to. Could be just my ancient eyes complaining, I don't know...

I just logged on and got the surprise. Red's my favorite color, but yeah, my eyeballs are throbbing.

Yep, the red is painful on my eyes. I was lookin' around in the Control Panel for a color selection, but didn't see anything. Ryan, is there a chance for something less "arresting"? vic

There is probably a reason books, newspapers, most printed medias use black. If the red were more opaque it would not be so harsh.

Red is a good Marxist color...
Just hope it doesn't trigger a siezure, as I might miss one of the petri dishes with the andromeda strain in it...

I happen to be part of the 10% of the male population that is red green colour blind. It certainly makes it hard to read.

Maybe it's like what they say about fast food seats being uncomfortable so you'll only stay 12.4 minutes? :p
I'll do some testing on black fellas... I think enough have spoken up.

The red is pretty rough.. there are little color adjusting buttons on my monitor (its old) that made it a little better, actually alot better. It took the bright white screen and made it darker too.
Not sure if its less red or less white, but it helped.

I'll bet a muted shade like Maroon would work better...not quite as harsh.
