For those of you who are interested in vintage, never before heard music, I’d like to introduce you to the Happy Valley Cowboys. Back in 1945 the Happy Valley Cowboys were a traveling local band based in Roseburg Oregon. The Happy Valley Cowboys packed the dance hall each weekend and performed till the wee hours of the morning. They were a fun filled bunch (some times rowdy) who loved to play all kinds of music. They were quite often seen performing at grand openings, war bond drives, special events and traveled up and down the west coast.

No matter how popular the band might have been in their hay-day, the Happy Valley Cowboys never got a record deal or a national hit. In fact, they had to pay the radio station for the time they used to broadcast their weekly show. The only known recordings of the Happy Valley Cowboys belong to the one and only remaining member…my Grandma Shirley. The way she got these recordings was through means of a home record cutting machine tuned into the local broadcast. When I heard these recordings for the first time, I was blown away! I loved the sound of old lacquer record, the energy of the band, and how cool it all sounds.

Now you can experience what music sounded like from the 40’s and early 50’s. This is the real stuff! This is what early hot rodders were listening to. This is the time period when the origins of rock-n-roll were merging. This is music before the national pop star, before the huge recording contracts, before state of art reel-to-reel recording equipment.

This CD contains 24 tracks of unaltered vintage music recoded on old ass lacquer records. The sound quality has not been altered except in extreme cases. You will hear clicks, hiss and some skips on this cd. It will sound as if you have an old 75rpm record player in your garage! Except no record could ever hold up to 24 tracks on one side.
Enjoy the true sounds of vintage vinyl today!

----additional notes----

I feel these recordings relate to the "MISC FOR SALE" category of the Hamb because the recordings are vintage and the kind of thing someone might want to play in their rod or in the garage. Also the Happy Valley Cowboys radio show was sponsored by Lockwood Motors (a local Ford dealer of the time) and the CD features a Mercury add at the end of the CD.

The CD's I'm offering for sale are not mass produced. I created the website, cover art, digitized the music off of the records, remastered the music, designed the CD art, burn each CD from my PC, hand cut the cover art to fit the jewel case...Get the idea. This is a one man sweat shop here, hahaha.
