Alrite, so here's a fun tidbit. First a lil about me, i live at home, not real great when you're 23 but i get along well with my parents and its free and they let me have the garage so it works. In said garage is my 50 shoebox i've been working on for a bit.
Well my parents just sold the house, and while i am planning on moving to the new house with them, there is no new house as of yet. So my parents decide, 'hey no biggie, we'll just crash at a hotel for a week or two til we find a place.' Rite. Great idea mom n dad. Now i got friends i can stay with for a while til we land, but as for the shoebox it's a different story.
So basically i have til the 8th of this month to make this car go. All i have left to do to get it on the road is to finish the wiring, get some sorta windshield, install the floor shifter i have for it, need a steering wheel, dash cluster, turn signal switch, brake lites, voltage regulator, and who knows what'll pop up along the way. So i got a few days off of work, and i figure, hey this could be fun, it'll be like some discovery channel show rite, 7 days to do a car. Yea, fun, i'll get some buddies to come over, we'll bbq, piece of cake. Well no one's showin up, which reminds me the only one you can really count on is yourself. So anyways, just wanted to rant a lil coz i couldn't sleep with all the stuff on my mind that i gotta do tomorrow.
Thanks for reading, and if you're in Long Beach w/ nothing better to do, hit me up and you may get a chance to watch me set myself on fire...again.

If you had your own pad, like an adult, you wouldn't have to worry about this. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

True enough, but where i live here in So Cal, the only places a guy like me could afford on my own would require sharing some place too small w/ too many people, and would only come with one parking space. So basically you're rite, coz if i had my own place i wouldn't have a project car.

Not that I'm in the same position, exactly, but somethin' similar.Had to move out last week, reachin' the deadline without knowing what new place we were going to move to (we're living at select friends and still looking), and had my '57 Effie in the condo garage for one last week, doing indoor work while I could. I took so long I was actually under the truck trying to fix the tranny the day the prop management people were to come by to inspect (and still had the rest of my garage stuff to clean up).
I lucked out in that the neighbors/friends whose driveway the project's been in are very cool about it still sleeping there (at least it's running and street legit, now), but for awhile I was scrambling for storage.
Lucked out a bit more this week by finding a garage for rent in Arcata. $95/mo. is quite the bargain up here, don't know what the rent-a-garage/storage rates are elsewhere.
If I still lived in SoCal I'd be more than happy to store it for you, I hope something works out for you. I know what you mean about So Cal rates- when I first moved out of San Gabriel Valley, I could only afford to do it on the other side of the L.A./San Berdoo county line (Montclair). Strange times.
