Anyone else having this problem? Seems like I was looking forward to the HAMB Drags weekend for 12 months, it came, had an AWESOME time, went by way to fast, and now I'm feeling really sad and very blue that it's over. Never really felt this way after an event before.
Anyone else feeling this way. Anyone else can't stop thinking about all the fun that was had and friends we got to see again and the new ones we met?

Not me, Denise. I'm still enjoying the pumpitude I had at the event. Maybe it's because this year I didn't race so I didn't get strung quite so tight. When I get really pumped, the resulting come-down can be a pain.
Tuck cracks me up when he gets over jazzed....he'll puke!
Yeah, 2 weeks ago today we were at JimCs house have a good ol time. ElP had no clue that he wouldnt make the drags, I had no clue our pig would commit Hari-Kari. We were blissfull!
Pumptitude? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif hahahahahaa

Hang in there sweetie. There MUST be a cruise somewhere Labor Day weekend. If not, round up Gus and some of them "Gay Michigan Bitches" and head east for the Hot Rod Hoedown on the 10th & 11th in DE..........

This is the site RACEFAB was asking about http://flatheaddrag.com/ but the last I checked he had not posted his pictures yet. DRD 57 has some good pictures of the cruise and pictures at MOKAN on his site. I would like to see some more racing shots.
I am still trying to figure out where everyone went. It sure is quiet and lonely here. I hope you guys come back.

Yea its kinda anti-climatic after the drags!
Cant wait to go back next year, Hope it wont rain this for big olds and the roadsters sake!!!
As a matter of fact, we have been going thru it, also.
I was sitting in the yard swing Right where BenD and his wife sat just a few days ago, Judy in the sunroom, when out of the blue she said, "We should have put up some lights so people could see the food".
I go to the garage, see "Clarence" on the lift, see Ryan under his 38, see EP's truck across the street BobK's Convert and Metalshapes blown hot rod just outside. The "Honemoon Suite' is empty. No more cookies.
I still hear the conversations, people having a good time, the neighbors walking down the street looking at some really awesome rides.
I see rocky and his 41, the ZMan truck and all the others. Little did I know that Eddie Bell was going to steal my Racrfab motor out from under me. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I am still drooling over that "Black Merc"
I miss Big Olds and the "Hamb Drags Or Bust" roadster(think I will frame that piece of chalk)
Around the corner, just down the street is a Hemi powered Pontiac. Flamed Abone is standing there talking to folks bout his hotrod.
I see an exhausted family pull up in a rental truck towing a Buick wagon. Crow, his son, Levis Classic and family, Tman,Smittys Hotrods, 55Safari,Mel and Bugman, the list goes on and on, folks from all points of the U.S of A.
The drags were great, but, this has become such a gathering of friends, that the staging lanes were not as busy as they could have been
To say you all made our weekend is a gross understatement.
Come on, 2005!

Yea, it was kinda the the peak for this summer, for me as well, was something I really wanted to do, and it's over now, doing the some of the local things seem kind of lame in comparison.
All the more reason to get started on next years Hamb drags projects http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Prepare for HAMBorbust II, named by Kustm52's son.

http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Z, your soooo funny! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif You had me craking up all the time at the drags and now. Thanks http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I wish I could go to the Day of the Drags, I know it's going to be a great time. Just not in the cards this year. I am going to the HunnertCarPileUp and am really looking forward to that, along with Kzoo in alittle more then a week. Here in Michigan we've got another 6 weeks or so here left of cruz weather so I do plan on making the best of the time left this year.
I think maybe a ride in a roadster might shake the cobweb blues outta my head http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'll be sitting on my front porch waiting http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Jay, last year FartCat had copies of the HAMB Drags video at Kzoo, which is next weekend. If thats the case again this year I'll bring the video to your "Strippers and Stripers" party on the 18th. I'll also be bringing the piece of AL that everyone signed to get striped and you non-attendees can see who all was there.

If you had fun at Smokin' MO-KAN dragway, come back on Oct 3rd. It's the American Hot Rod Reunion. There will be plenty of Top Fuel front engine dragsters, Gassers, and vintage rods in action. I'ts a hell of a good time. HAMB'ers would feel at home.

Denise, I think we all must be feeling a little blue, after all, it was one hell of a time. Its not often ,you get to spend time, with that many,"Hoodlums" that live, and breath, nothing but hot rods and of course, funnnnn!, not in that order.I really was relieved, when I got there, did a lot of thrashing to make it.But it was all worth it,I would do it again in a heartbeat. Its hard for me to attend a "lawn chair,I should of won,my cars the best" kinda show ,after the drags. But damn glad I was there, and met some really hardcore, hot rodders, you included. There are still several events left, that should be great, to go to.But if you are like me,jobs and funds, often screw, up taking them all in.But things are going to be fine, we have the Hamb and with this group of people,Im sure that we will be entertained, all year round! Now put that smile, back on,and let the good times roll!

Are you sure it's on the 3rd? The Mo-Kan website has it on the 2nd. If it is on the 3rd that might work out pretty good. If I can make it to the Day of the Drags I could stop by Mo-Kan on my way back home.

I was doing fine 'til last night just about past it.
Then I went over to friend Sonny's shop for grins and words.
he said he heard that there were some good races at MOKAN that he missed and wondered if I heard about 'em.
An hour or so later I'm headed home my head full of faces conversations and rides.
Good times never last long enough.
