I'm finding out that no one makes dropped spindles for this '61. Does anyone know of another GM of the same vintage that would work if droppped spindles were made for it? Something I could retro fit?

SOL my friend you should have bought a chevy if you want that fancy stuff. Like lownslow said bag it. Air ride actualy has a kit for your ride for the low low price of $1119 chump change for you high rollers.

I am bagging, but I was wanting the droppped spindles to keep the geometry of the front end from being so extreme.
As for as Airride goes, I had one of their $1100 kits on my delivery, and it sucked. It was slooooooooow! The exhaust ports on the dump vavles are tiny and you any get 1/4" line from them. Were building me a kit now. Thanks.

There’s nothing wrong with making your own drop spindles. Just need to find a second pair and a good welder, if your not.

Airride does. It was my fist kit and I didn't know any better...I do now!
Actually for quite some time .25 fittings were standard. Before everyone needed to go up and down fast. But then my feeling is if you want to go up and down that damn fast get some hydraulics....

Going down too fast sucks, it's comming up fast thats nice when you live in a state like Arkansas where the roads suck. It's nice to see a bad place in the road and be able to get your car up and out of harms way in a jiffy.

i have 1/4 inch lines and fittings and my car is PLENTY fast enough...i have no problem getting up on a jiffy to avoid bad roads, steep driveways, etc...BUT i have seen set ups with 1/4 in lines that are way slower than mine.....i agree if ya want em super fast get lifts......

I like it sloooooooowww...then fast! My parts(.25) should be in...or at least that's what I hear. Pretty soon I'll be able to play teeter totter on speed bumps.

as i've already said a buddy and myself are working on a conversion for the buicks right now using camaro spindles which will automaticlly give you and inch and if you want to get all fancy you can buy camaro dropped spindles and get that much more. the bad news is the nailhead died and thats gotta come first. hopefully that won't take long and i think we may do a pratice run on a 63 lesabre he has sitting around the yard. oh yeah did i mention that you get a front disc conversion to boot.ha. most of the stuff used should be available to most anyone except the roundy round parts which also shouldn't be to hard to get your hands on. lou already got a set of spindles for the lesabre from flat top here on the hamb at a more than fair price. as said i'm full on focused on the rebuild right now, well that and i nearly mashed the tip of my middle finger off yesterday, but as soon as thats done or close. i'm gonna see where that puts the car and decide from there on wether or not to bag it. i probably won't as i may go ahead and use dropped spindles with the swap...ken....

I can get a kit to you with 3/8 valves and lines. individual corner control, 5 gal tank and a Viair compressor that delivers 2.76 cfm. Also included are reducer to slow the flow on the drop so you don't crash to the asphalt. Kit runs 999.00 complete.
