Good God, that car was built years ago, I remember seeing it at Alexander Palace in '79.
Thanks for reminding me of the rapid passage of it.

I bought a small book at a used book store with al these 70s brit cars. I got one picture posted of a Rolls with a V12 merlin engine but this dam picture gave me fits getting it sized. I really don't mess with the clunky photoshop on my Lexmark enough to be familiar with it but I will try to put up some more of the period British cars. Some are downright awful tho.

Nads...I was at that show...the good old Custom Car shows...not sure if this is the same hillman that was talked about on the UK forum, but if it is it was originally gonna be loosely based on the original Lil Coffin

Anyone remember Paul Wayling's wicked Plymouth? That thing was friggin' scary. But not as scary as Mumford's murals, fuck there were murals on top of murals back then.
The tasty cars were outnumbered by the butt fuglies 20 to 1, but it was still a great time to have been around in, I'm so happy I got to experience it.

That's it 32Limey, I bet that was the only hot rod in the UK running Rader wheels.
Did I tell you my next door neighbor bought the T-bucket Shotgun in '78 at the Norbreck Castle Show in Blackpool?
When he brought it home I was jealous as hell. He came around the corner blasting his LaCucaracha air horn. He took me for a ride in it, it was my first ride in a real hot rod. I was changed forever. BTW, the dude's called Keith McCormick and he runs a major collector car auction in California now. He made it big.

That fucking hurricane two weeks ago destroyed a bunch of my beloved English hot rod mags, I'm still bumming about that, they can never be replaced.

Thats the one....Gary Belcher's V12 T.

I also remember the XJ-S that was built for 100+ International Wheels. They ripped out the V12 & replaced it with a 427 Chevy!

I've got a picture of it somewhere doing a burnout outside the shop I used to work at (Don't laugh...Ripspeed).....looked odd, front & back wheels not moving, and the middle set smoking like a demon http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My mate Swerve, found Shotgun last year, been sat in a garage 20 years, I dragged it home for him, hes at the momment rebuilding it back to 70s spec.
I remeber all of these, lead foot was the bollocks, iv often wanders where it went.
Gary Belcher, and Belcher engineering are not the same.Gary has dissapeard and the car is in the museum, they wont say who owns it and they are not allowed to move or fire it up.
Strange, but at least its still arround.

Cheers Pete

I'm making a serious offer here, I'll trade my Packford straight up for Shotgun, each party pays shipping across the pond.

Re: Shotgun. My mate PFF tells me you wanna swap! Its been a while since the original message but I have only just got online.
Shotgun is not yet ready to roll again but it won't be long. I would like to enjoy it for a while when its done.
So what have you got?Post a picture? The T still looks the same, save for a couple of details such as the grill moved forward to fit a fan & the exhausts have been painted black.(everything as far as possible will be restored back to its early seventies glory ) The paintwork as far as I can tell from the magazines is the same, just a bit of crazing, its pretty good considering its been around a bit in this cold wet and miserable place. Anyway nice to know its not been forgotten. Who WAS your neighbour?

I remember SHOTGUN very well!
I used to organise the Blackpool Show late 70's early 80's and I used Shotgun for publicity shots a number of times !
I remember taking the car onto Blackpool Promenade right infront of Blackpool Tower and draping a semi-nude Tracy Anne Murtagh across it (YUM YUM!!) .
The car was'breathing' rather heavily and was kicking fuel back out the carb, it was still a handful though ! (So was Tracy!)
Those were the days
I also remember Keith McCormick, My dad and I used to run a trim shop and do work for him on Mazdas and things !

Keith McCormick was my next door neighbor. He does an antique car auction in Palm Springs in California. He moved here before we did, probably in 1980 or so.

Any word on the Shotgun resto, Swerve?

PS, first trime I saw the Stray Cats was in Blackpool, I think it was at The Norbreck Castle, can't remember, brain's gone to shit.
