The lower ball joint on a '61 is pointing downwards and any camaro I know of has the opposite.
one time I upgraded a '62 by using a set of '76 malibu spindles and rotors/brakes....
It involved "tipping" the lower A arms with the balljoint mounting area of the donor '76 Malibu lower A arm[hire a pro welder]
Then the spindle will fit right on to adapted ball joint.
I do remember having to lengthen the A arm a half inch or so[camber spec].
The top ball joint from your '61 will bolt up to these '76 Malibu spindles.[others might be same too]
also I used the Idler arm and all tie rods/steering arms clear across from the '76 Malibu-it was close enought that it adjusted out without any changes.ALSO lowers it 1-1/2".
steering box I used was from a '62 and was manual steering.

I have a friend with a 60 and one with a 64 chevy and both of them put 82-93 S-10 dropped spindles and they both said its real easy

Camaros are rear steer and the Impala is front steer(I think). This means you would probably have to relocate the steering box.

A basically bolt on deal is '65-'82 Corvette spindles and brakes. The only rework is to drill the '61 steering arms to the Corvette size.

Isn't it the other way around?
Most early sixties GM's I've had are rear stear.

the '76 I mentioned was a 76 NOVA instead of Malibu![senility came early here]
it was in stock form a FRONT STEER.
also it required no heating bending or cutting [just the lower A arm surgery].

I just went and looked at a bunch of front steer spindles and......they are wrong...for front steer ackerman.
So it looks like they would be perfect in a rear steer situation.
Hmmm!
