I was wondering where a good ( hate to say it ) Restoration parts place/ cataloge place is. I going to bite the bullet and replace all window rubber, bushings felt channeling on my car. Its been eating at me for the last 5 years and I think I'd like to get it done so I can put interior ( actual nice stuff ) in my car.
Its a 51 Chevy Bel-Air
Will I be concidered a gold chainer if I repalce the rubber floor mats with carpet and have the seat upolstered insted of the Mexican blankets.

Having priced rubber mat even at a surplus store known for good deals,
I've decided that Carpet is actually the low-buck way to go.
I like "Marine carpet" because it is mold resistant and wet-or-dry.
Just hose out the turkey jerky wrappers and keep driving.

Hey Outlaw...
Have you checked out the National Chevy Association?
Looks like they sell all the stuff you need.

Go to your local auto glass shop and buy the fuzz strip and channel in 10 foot chunks. It is cheaper and you can fit it to your car with a little effort. As for the Floor, I ordered an ACC kit for my 54 Chevy.......same kit as the National Chevy Assn sells. Decent quality, you still have to have skill to install it. Everything is not cut perfectly. I also used about $15 of foil backed insulation from the hardware store to deaden the sound even more.

I think you need to replace that rubber that goes around your wheels too...
...and the one in your wallet. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You may keep the rain out, but you will never get rid of the wind noise in a hard top, not at the speeds you drive.
Does this mean you are putting in a new bath mat headliner? Going with white again?
