Hey whats up to all out there. I just found out about this site and its cool. I am somewhat new to the scene, but have always loved old rides ever since my father took me to my first show when I was 10 yrs. old. I am now 32 yrs. old and have built several hot rods, or actually spoofs of (ratrods) what ever that means. I found this hobby around three years ago and have been busting my but to build better rods every year. I have owned only two full customs, but I have owned well over 40 cars, trucks since I began driving.
I I do appologize for not submiting my introduction before My for sale add. My wifey submitted it last night while I was waxing the new roadster down from the Pismo Cruz this weekend. I do not want to be that guy.
I am here to meet people and to build more cars that no one has seen before. For instance the new 1928 custom raodster. Ibet you v'e never seen one like this before.
Like I said before I am new to the world of customs, I used to be a big time loser. I got clean over 5 1/2 yrs. ago and turned my life around. Today I run a very small mobile welding co. and work as a full time fabricator, certified welder in the structual side of things. I started welding when I was 14 yrs. old at my dads shop. We built custom fertilizing spreaders in the Valley. It now makes me an honest living.
Just bought my first home here outside of Santa Maria CA, but work in Santa Barbara CA, I drive alot. Like I said welding has been good and so has been staying clean....
I met a nice guy who recomended me to this site, so thanks Sam.
My first custom can be seen in the new old school rodz mag #29 Sept 2008 it is in the back fire section. It is the satin black 1936 Chevy Lowcab Pickup. I bought it original and transformed it into a one off custom. My first chop, channel, and custom chassis. It turned out awsome and sold to a gentleman who put even more time and money into it, and who takes great care of it. I miss that truck alot.
My second custom is currently for sale and it is now listed here on the H.A.M.B. It is a very , very custom 1928 Ford Roadster. I won best engineering At the new paso show now held in Santa Maria, CA. Everything is bera metal with clear powdercoated frame with lightning holes, as well as the body. Quickchange rearend, friction shocks , dropped 6 inch front. It is all new stuff but to me it looks like it could of been built a long time ago. Another rod I don't wan tto sell but I really just enjoy building them. They keep me busy after work and focused on what I need to be doing. Plus I meet A ton of people durring the build and learn a ton. Its alway fun to start another project so the next one is a 1926 Dodge coupe all original and in perfect condition. As soon as this one sells I will dive into it. It usually takes a long year to build becuase I have to keep my day job.
If you would like to view more of my builds You can go to www.myspace.com (http://www.myspace.com) and search for deweesecustom, or Rick DeWeese. Click on pics. I hope everyone enjoys them.
Anyways I gotta eat dinner so tALK TO YOU ALL LATER.
