Last Thursday a guy sticks his head into my office and asks "who owns that Hupmobile outside?". Then he invited me to a people's choice car show on the base at Cherry Point on Saturday. I figured what the heck, it'd be nice to see some cool cars so I went. The last car show I went to was about 30 years ago. It was time. I built my car to drive not to show. I had no expectations and was absolutely floored to pick up a small trophy for "Top 30". Here's a few pics of the best of the best...

That 37 Packard was sweet. all original with only 43k miles! The same guy entered a 76 Rolls Corniche. Both cars won a Top 30 prize. This coupe won Best Interior. I shopuld have taken a shot of that...

That 'BEST OF SHOW" sure has some "salad shooter" wheels doesn't it?

"Salad Shooter" wheels. I love it!
I hadn't heard that term, but it's a perfect description of those particular abominations - as well as all the popular styles that have that same goofy look. What ARE these people thinking?
