dumb question REMOVING HORN BUTTON FROM WHEEL

how does the horn button on an early 50's chevy steering wheel come off without destroying it or mangling the wheel, not the whole horn ring, just the button in the center.

alot of the horn buttons on the earlier cars are of the push and turn style of retainer.

yup,that's how the button comes out of the one in my 54..turn it around till it comes out...i think if you need to put it back in,you just drop it into place and start rotating it till it drops back into place..mine doesnt even need to be pressed in or anything..just drop and spin lol
