ok bought a studebaker 1957 silverhawk this summer couldnt help my self was a killer price and the seller was a friend to some of my friends (and has since become my friend aswell, real swell guy),

so just had to buy it i just couldnt refuse that price..
i had an extra job over the sommer for 3 weekends that made me the money so atleast it in that sence didnt take money out of the other money.. well kinda http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

first off was a 2 barrel edmunds intake with 2 stromberg ww carbs i found on ebay think it costed me like 200 bux with shipping back home to sweden or sometning like that , decent price anyhow,(hmm i belive it must have been 60s style here on the hamb that posted a link to the auction, thanx again!)

a friend was selling a par almost new firestone 5.6wide 15" wheels on copper painted steelies.. with the right 4.5" bolt pattern, and another friend sold me a pair of moon cheater slicks to go in the back.. heck maybe the front wheels are a little small but was quite decent price on them and well the studebaker aint a big caddy so dont think they are that much too small, eventhough i wouldnt mind a little bigger wheels but we will see about that...

a friend has a moon tank on the way home that he dont need i might buy that and put in the grille opening instead of the grille...

anyhow here are some pics,

the car was since the above pics was taken, torn down and some minor rust repair, and is now sitting like this
just need new electrical wireing and some paint ...
(it was in the belov condition when i bought it, so the above pics are from when the previous owner owned it)

btw a friend has a pair of 64 or something thunderbird seats i will get for free or cheap to put in the studebaker has volvo amazon front seats now but a rear seat i belive is out of a thunderbird... or i just might buy some race chairs or something...

Neat ride, man! I have a pal up here in Oregon who bought one off the original owner! The supercharger had been removed in 1960 so that the owner could get better mileage. He is planning on putting it back on of course and it reallllly sounds sweet through glasspacks.

I dig the lines on the Hawks - personally, I like the grille of the Packard Hawk better though...looks like it's on it's way though!

I've seen a couple of the Packard Hawks in person. They aren't too bad, but the nose is too shovel shaped for me. I love the regular Hawks, and the older Starliners. And 1957 Studebaker President Broadmoor Wagons, but of course I may be partial.

I think the packard hawk looks like some kind of bottom feeder...the stude hawks on the other hand...gorgeous.Nice car dude

Lookin good Psycho. I see you'er repairing the rust in the back part of the front fenders. My 53 champion is rusty there too. I don't know of anybody selling patch panels for the front fenders so I guess I'll have to make mine.

Classic Enterprises makes patch panels for the rear of the fenders. They also make floorboards and other bits.

The air-inlets in the front fenders was a big source of rust on these. Works nice with bringin in fresh air into the cabin, but on winterdriven cars in "the salt-belt", the airchannels and vents did disappear fast...

I do not own a Studebaker myself, but back in 1977 I read the daily newspaper and found an ad about a 56 Flight Hawk, decent condition but with rusty front fenders and frozen engine. Showed my dad the ad (I was 13 years old then), he brought the car for about $200 and he still have it. This photo is from when we picked it up!

This blue 55 was seen on the road to Stockholm back in 1978 (my first visit to Stockholm), I think its quite similar to Daemonīs other Stb. The red SAAB in the background was my dadīs car, how I wished it would have been the Studebaker instead of the SAAB... (note the front fender mirrors and the mudflaps, typial items on Swedish cars back then)
