I really liked the truck when I saw the pics as well. Fronts are 18x2 American 12 Spoke spindle mounts.

Boy does that truck bring back memories. When I was in high school I dreamed of owning a speed shop and I used to doodle in study hall with ideas for shop layout and displays. The shop logo I came up with is almost an exact copy of that truck. I think my mom still has some of my old drawings, I'll see, and if she does I'll scan and post a drawing of MY truck.

Hello HAMB,
The truck belongs to a good friend of mine in San Francisco. I would actually say it's more like my younger brother than good friend as we did grow up together, but anyways the truck is bitchen. The coupe you see at the botom of this post is actually the same chassis but with the new body. The little truck had a slight mishap several months ago when the clutch came out in 2nd gear and this lead to the rebuild. The fabrication work was done by Mike Smith at California HotRods for the intial build plus the latest redo. The front wheels are the 18" 12 spokes and the rears are 15"X10" Americans with the repop slicks that are available frm Radir and Coker Tire. The rest of this car is really trick under the skin. It's also really fast.... Probably faster than it needs to be, but then that's what it all about right?

Yeah the no front brake deal can be quite interesting at times.... If I remember correctly there was a story once about somebody pulling out in front of him and having the truck do a nice 360 while cruising thru San Fran. Grab'ed a little to much brake and the little truck came right around! Not too fun....
If you are going to put a Chizzler in there you better put some stopping power on the F-End. The rest of this thing is real simple and clean. 9" rear, 37-41 rear spring, custom built hairpins in the front with a dropped I-Beam. It has a Muncie 4-spd coupled to the little 350. He used the new style vertex Mag look-a-like elec ignition and dual quads. Like a said earlier, it's very quick! The fab work on this thing is extremely nice..... Everything on the chassis is just so and the headers that Mike built are ultra bitchen. Very Clean....
Talk at ya later,

I love the look of no front brakes but I can't (with a sound mind) bring myself to build a car without them. Those spoke wheels give it that "Fuel Altered" look but the old altered drag cars had parachutes. The fronts do most of the stopping. Ask any brake shop how many front brake pads the replace compared to the rear. The best thing I can do is come up with some brakes that are good to look at.
I want to hear more about the mishap that led to the new body. I new a guy who lost half a foot, from a blown clutch.

Nothing exciting like the clucth can comming apart.... The little truck made contact with a BMW..... This bent a couple of things.... The word is that it will go back to the truck eventually but the coupe body was just for a little interm fun.

Radar http://www.radirwheels.com/ has theses wheels that will take front brakes. I had a T bucket with know front brakes, it was scary as hell! I was 18, so I thought it was cool to slide sideways when you hit the brakes hard http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Dean
