its getting there,,, few things to tweak, im gonna move the radius rod mount up a couple inches,, floors are almost done. about ready to pull the motor and send it off the machine shop.
also, i need to find a good place to buy some parts,, i bought a door latch from a place called.www.partsformodelafords.com or some shit and thre latch was garage. i need to find a good place to get my patch panels and doro handles and the latch from,, also how much of the wood did you keep in your body? i know for sure i wanna do a vinyil insert so i need to keep the top bows, but is it neccesary to keep it all? its all there but its pretty rotted so im trying to decide if its worth spending the dough for a whole wood kit

Car is lookin good, Wes... about moving your 'bones: You ARE aware you need 4 to 6 degrees of positive caster, to keep that baby going straight down the road, right? When you move your mounting point of the 'bones, you change the caster. You may have to take a pie-cut outta the front of the bones if you raise the rear of them to get your caster back in specs...

yea, the caster is good right now., so i did take that into consideration that if i wanna keep the caster the same then i need to pie cut it. maybe i dont need to move them if the caster is good right now?? just cause it looks kinda funky now that i see a pic

Paso is the goal.
I had a good day on it today. Finally got my wheel spacers, so I eliminated the rubbing on the rear inside fenderwells. Got some temporary taillights cobbled together and troubleshot a bad headlight switch today also.
I still can't get my carbs figured out. I guess I am going to bite the bullet and take it into San Diego Carburator and see if they can't get it handled. Either that or scrap the whole tripower rig completely. Couldn't drive it though until the taillights were butttoned up.
Got it registered week before last and just need to slap some insurance on it and I'll putt it out to La Mesa or El Cajon once or twice before the season ends......
MAN, its getting close huh?when does it end? that was one of my goals also was to drive my car to el cajon or la mesa before it ended,,,

Wes
I never keep the wood period unless its in good shape.
You don't need it and the car isn't a restoration. Metal is better as far as I'm concerned.
Makin' good progress, your cuttin a fat hawg in the ass friend http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

On the repro parts, in many cases it doesn't matter where you buy since often there is only one manufacturer. Many repro parts are pretty bad, and some are virtually unusable. For Model A stuff, try Brattons--he makes the effort to find the beat choices, often calls out the problems when there is no choice right in the catalog, and actually improves a few of the parts he sells in house.
When repro stuff sucks, often the best option is to figure out how to repair the original you were about to toss.

That looks sweet!!! Nice job. Thats what I hope my model A looks like (when I finally get to it) someday.
bruce, i agree with ya, cant beat the orignal stuff, just that the drivers door was completely missing the latch(if anyones got an extra one around ill take it!) got all the floors done, got the seats mounted where i want, now i gotta send em off to get covered, and got the gas tank mounted,, pulling the motor and trans tommorow night and blwing it apart and sending it off to the machine shop. its gettig closer and closer, gonna chop it pretty soon too...
K- im driving that bitch up there in the next couple of months!

Looks like it will make a great Rod. mikes-afordable.com has a lot of good "A" parts. Snyders’s Antique Auto Parts puts out a big catalogue. Do you have any extra parts?
i have a few things here and there, wahtta ya looking for
