I have a 1949 GMC truck and i lowered it. In the rear i have a roll pan andi woudl like to get rid of the front bumper itself. Does anyone have any pics of a truck like that? And does anyone know of what would be needed to be made to make it look good? I know its a odd question, but it just doenst look right to have the bumper there and it wont look good with just a gaping hole either. SO yeah let me have your opinions.
Thanks,
-Andrew

Brothers (http://www.brotherstrucks.com) sells a fiberglass front roll pan for eleminating the bumper. they also sell a rear pan.
how did you go about lowering your truck ?

No bumpers at all? I think the bumpers give it the illusion of being WAY lower, but that's just my opinion. The drawback being the bumpers always scrape on driveways and speedbumps because of the distance they rest from the body, especially the rear one. As for the space in front, there are companies that make front roll pans for that little space that would be left open under the grill. I will go through my catalogs, find out who does it, and send the info along to you. How low is it, anyway? Got a photograph?

Maybe get rid of the front rock shield and move the bumper closer to the body.

the early truck look silly with no front bumper imho.

tuck the bumper in. it does help it look lower. just look too silly with that damned add-on upside down grille piece.

just got a chrome grille at the swap today for $40! needa a few dings taken out though.
