classifieds by region

is there any way we can get it set up so we can look into classified ads maybe by region or state? or maybe even something along the lines of distance from a certain zip code? i know it would make finding stuff that i have a snowballs chance in hell of gettin to alot easier.
i rarely have good ideas, but i think this might be one of 'em. quick! somebody make a note of my inspiration, before it passes...
