a friend of mine who is a professional just painted my panhead. He used a light silver metallic base coat then done the flames i spent days laying out in pearl white. He then sprayed 2 quarts of ppg plum purple candy? on top of that. Then follwoed it with a mile of clear. It's a killer looking paint job but you cant see the flames at all unless you hold a shop light up to the tanks.I was going for ghost flames but i mean you really have to look for them even under the light. Can the flames be brightened up without completely redoing the job?He done it for free and provided all the materials so it's not like i'm going to complain to him about it,just wish i could see the flames. If nothing will work i thought about having him shoot more clear over all the sheetmetal with large flake in it if that's possible.I'm open to any suggestions...............

Nope.
A suggestion---have somebody stripe/outline the flames with a purple that's real close to the color on it. Sounds gay, huh? yea I thought so......better re-do it all http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sounds like not enough contrast between the light silver and the white, and MAYBE too much Candy
.
Once the Candy is on there, your stuck.

Take it outside on a bright sunny day to see what it will look like in direct sunlight.
