I thought you would like to see some pics of my brother-n-laws 40 Chevy PU. Its not quite `traditional`, but I think it will look pretty good when he is done.

He is over 50 years old, and this is his first street rod/hot rod that he has ever done! This was a nice bone stock running/driving truck just 14 months ago! He took it apart, bought a welder and taught himself to weld, and started boxing the frame and welding all the brackets for the rack-n-pinion, engine mounts, rear end mounts, etc. He asked a lot of question along the way, and learned a lot.

I ended up building the motor for him, which is a strong running 350; he was right there asking me questions and helping along the way.

I took these pics after he got the frame back from the power coater, and we dropped the engine/trannie in for the first time.

I have to admit, this is the first set of photos I've seen on this board of someone's garage that has a garden under their workbench... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Nice touch, oh yeah, the frame looks good too...

I've got a '46. Its basically the same truck, just different front sheet metal. I really liked the picks showing the stripped cab. He's really doing a heck of a job! If my truck ever looks 1/2 as good as that it'll be a miracle. Its awesome that he's doing it himself and its his first project.

Yea, I noticed that when I uploaded the pics, kinda funny http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif. Its starting to get chilly here at night, so his wife put them in the garage over night.

40 chevy pickup trucks are only surpassed in beauty by the 39 chevy pickup truck. I like 'em better than the Ford ovvering that year. Of course, I'm a little predjudiced too. This is my 36 chevy pickup and yes, I'm gonna spend the day working on it for a change....
