I dont know his name, but his car was featured in the first go-around HOP-UP-(Before Mark Morton took over the reigns)
This fella was in a club called the"Prinsbo Outlaws"..the car is I believe.a 30-31 model a roaster..hemi-powered/deuce grill/custom insert/gold in color/running 6 97's on the hemi..ribbed firewall/WWW TIRES AND POLISHED FIVE SPOKES/a red crazy pleated interior(sorta like a 59-60 vette/lake pipes and duval type windshield......
Is this car still around?
anybody have decent pics?
It was featured in TRJ(#15)in an article by Bo Bertilsson
the open spread has a pic of the car second from the left..cant miss it

The car is built by and still owned by Charles Swordson from Falun in Sweden. Last times I saw the car it had changed appearance a bit, with a more regular 32 grille screen, other wheels & tires and some engine details. Though someone told me that it might be returning to the early version again...
It has not been shown in public for a few years and Charles is mostly seen driving around in his 60 El Camino, built with the same feeling for details. I did shot these photos for Lead News #6 back in the early 90īs, did scan them from the magazine (sorry for the poor printing quality back then). Though somewhere in my files I have a lot of shots of it...

Except for color and wheel preference that is the absolute perfect roadster. I always wanted to see the seat divider done like an early vette but never thought there would be room. That feature just melds the outside of the car with the inside and is so totally cool. Now there is the AMBR as far as I am concerned.

Yep, this is one of my all time favorite swedish rods too. I saw it in bare metal at a cruise night in '92, the body work is just awesome. I never understood the change from Radirs to Halibrands and modern slicks, though.
If I'm not wrong, Charles took it over to the U.S. soon after it was finished for some road testin' and it all ended up as a story in "Wheels" magazine. Maybe someone else still has a copy of that issue, mine's gone http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Thanks for all the pix, fellas!

The wheels in the first version of Swordsons car are JP-wheels indeed, but a very rare model, Iīve only seen a few pairs during the years Iīve been into rods & customs (+25 years). I don’t know about the Raider look-a-likes, they can be JPīs as well as JP made many models of wheels, most of them more or less cloned after American mag wheels. JP-wheels were the hot thing over here for any Volvo guy in the mid 60īs- early 70īs, and their 5-spoke clone was also also a very common wheel back then. The wheels were named after a guyīs intitals: Jack Possnert, a race car driver and business man, and manufactured by an aluminum foundry in Eskilstuna .JP-wheels (http://hem.passagen.se/tobiasax/jp.htm) . By the way, that is same small town were CE Johansson did build up his buisness, CEJ was the founder of the gage block that made Fordīs production line possible and also made Cadillac to be "Standard of the world" as he worked with them as well in the early 1900īs. Also in the same town about 80 years later Tommy Claesson built a 32 Ford that got the Bruce Meyer award at Oakland some years ago. And last, but not to be forgotten, it is as well the town of the famous Wildfire Wille, the legendary Swedish artist, and he had a 54 for many years (earlier owned by Peter Sandberg of the GoGetters, but he lives in Västerås and that town is known for something else http://www.bigmeet.com/#...)

Look like one of the 6-7 different models of Mikey Thompson valve covers to me. I've seen ones just like that that had "Mickey Thompson" in small letters between the top two fins. Sounds like an idea for a new thread.
