Hi everyone,

Not that many of you would really care, but I just thought I'd mention that the family and I are moving down to Pennsylvania. It just costs way to much to live here these days. Lived here my whole life and seen New England get transformed into the "land of the rich". Sold the house, payed off some bills, got a bigger one for a lot less money, and have a little left over to start my first hot rod project ever. My new house even has a garage! Woo hoo! We're moving to York, PA where my wife's family lives.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys down in PA know that I'm coming and I hope to see more of you at the area get-togethers. Also, pretty soon I'll be itching to start my first project... probably will be looking for a drivable 1930-1941 car that I can learn on and make my own. It doesn't have to be pretty and shiny... just safe and in need of a good home. If you know of anything in the area, let me know. I've got my eyes peeled on the HAMB classifieds.

See ya around...

Chris

Better watch out, some weird folks come out of central PA! There are a handful of HAMBers around York: So-What, ScarryLarry, JohnnyLonghair, MotorMikey, Glasshole, Sumo, Nappy, Ol' Scratch just to name a few!

I'm sure you'll like the area...

Congrats on the omve. You couldn't have picked a location with cooler HAMB folks if you tried. The So-What crew are the best of the best.

I'm looking forward to meeting you at the Jalopy Showdown in May.

I lived in Dover in the mid-80's. Beautiful area but as you said pricey too. Went through the shipyards in Portsmouth.

Loved it up there.

York is a very nice area and these guys are right, what a great bunch of hambers to be nearer to.

The 1st showdown was the first and unfortunately last time I got together with them, had to miss this years run. But you have GOT to make it since you're now going to be there.
First one was a blast and I'm planning on making it next May with some luck.

Living out towards Pittsburgh now. Go Steelers!

GOOD LUCK with the move and settling in.

Welcome! Lotsa people complain about PA, but there's nowhere better for car events on this side of the country IMO.
Carlisle, the Showdown, Hershey, and, of course, the York nationals are all within your easy reach now.

We needs to get a HAMB event started somewhere in the Harrisburg area for the second half of the year... or start a cool ass club or something. Central PA is lacking in that respect.

Why don't I get right on that, you ask? Well, I'm lazy. That's why. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Did anybody mention the hazing we give to out of towners? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gifIt's just as bad as the hazing we give Lullabelle. Well.... maybe not that bad.

Welcome to the area. Like others said it's a good location with a lot of car stuff going on nearby.

Dammit Nappy you beat me to it http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. Wicked, good luck on your move. York area seems to be the hotbed of hotrods in PA.

Buick, there's a couple Hamber's up your way. We should get together sometime and talk cars. later plmczy
