Sorry I haven't taken time to introduce myself sooner. Just lurking mostly and looking over D.W. 's shoulder. I'm Doyle Perkins. Spent 40 years in Odessa( if you don't know it's in TEXAS), then 11 in Fort Worth and the last 11 in Paige(Austin). Grew up working in my dad's shop. I've finally finished my shop at my home in Paige, so maybe now, I'll have time to socialize AND work on my cars (HA!!:rolleyes:). We (my wife, Kathleen, and I- this is always WE) have a 1948 Roadmaster that was given to us by her grandfather along with the original bill-of-sale listing the options(radio, heater, sunvisor- total $1700!!!!). Also have a 1963 Ranchero that is going to be a drag only car(better be faster than my old Falcon was) with altered wheelbase and ?. 1964 Ranchero that will replace my chevy truck as my daily driver, can't do without a pickup. Anyway, I really enjoy this type of work and challenges. Gets my mind off the daily grand-Mercedes Benz Tech- getting tired of the tech part, it's time to go back to being a mechanic. Ya'll have a good year.
