I'm beginning to scrounge up some parts to get started on my 46 Coupe. My preliminary plan includes discs on the straight axle up front, original rear, a fresh flatty (stock for now except for an extra carb on the Speed Gems adapter) and eventually a T5 with an 8" or 9" out back. I'll probably get a super slide reverse eye spring for the front unless something else will work better? Will I need to split the 'bones when I go to the T5 or will it fit OK with the bones as is? Also, should I order one of the adapters to use a later MC on the original pedal for my disc brakes or can one be fabbed easily by one with no skills http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks!

I have used the adapter a few times and it works great. The pedal is in the right place from the factory so it is very comfortable.

It's there why not use it.

Before you get started with 100 questions why don't you slide under your car and take look at where the rear wishbones are conected. It should answer some of your questions. If you have no real skills, purchase only pieces that come with clear instructions and all hardware needed. There is a lot of good stuff out there to pick from. Also make sure they don't need to be welded in place or find a qualifyed welder to help you out.

After re-reading your question I now see you are refering to the front wish bone. You may find it easier for installiing the trans with a removable center frame support. There are a few different ones out there that bolt in in place of the origional rivits. I do belive they are all made for split wishbone mounts.

Yeah, the front http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif When I go to the T5 I'll probably go to parallel leaves out back since I've already got an 8" and all.

I was thinking about trading for another chassis from my parts guy to set up, then just swap bodies.

I don't think I'd change frames unless the one you have isn't sound. There are vin #'s on them that should match numbers on the title. Parrell springs are an excelent choice for the rear. You can also get them in a total bolt in kit from several suppliers.
