This post doesn't require any replies;informational only.
This weekend(Fri-Sunday)Meyers Airport in Tecumseh Michigan will host it's fly-in for Meyers Aircraft only. This event is held every 4 years and last time brought in over 40 examples.
Tecumseh is located approximately 65 miles SW of Detroit and about 35 miles NW of Toledo Ohio and 15 miles east of Michigan International Speedway.
I know there are several people on the board here that are into vintage aircraft which is why I am posting this.I will be taking pictures this weekend and will post a couple if you would like.
The founder of Meyers Aircraft was good friends with Henry Ford(the hot rod link http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)and was intrumental in the development of the Ford Tri-Motor(as I understand it)and built his aircraft right here at the airport from the early 30's to the mid 50's.
So if any HAMBers are in the area, stop in and see some really neat aircraft and stop by my garage and say hello.I live diagonally across the street from the Airport Bowling Alley which is next to the airport.Look for a 72 T-Bird and a 25th Anniversary TransAm in the yard.

I love Swifts - 'specially w/all the speed mods & a big engine - great hot rod! Too bad they're so small...makes a Mooney look downright luxurious!

About 2 dozen Swifts were at Oshkosh this year and they are Hot Rods of the small planes!
My friends Dad sold his Meyer's Biplane to a guy in Downers Grove Il. ..., so if you see it please take a photo of it because I know he would like to see it again...!

Ray, I tried to get the Mid-Michigan gang to come down for the day to see you and some of the planes. Almost everyone has something planned for the weekend, so it looks like we will be a no show. I'm still wanting to come and see you so maybe the wife and I will take a drive one of these days.
I'll be sure to let you know when we can get away.
