I have a lot of respect for people who restore vehicles of that condition....its not that bad...but many vehicles being restored are a little better than that...I dig the front end of those Chevy's...it will be a cool truck Im sure.

that looks too much like work. but then again tearing apart lets out alot of stress http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

looks like the frontend is tweaked, im looking at the 2nd pic.
or is it just the angle of the camera?

I dig the front ends too, but I'm getting rid of it. I want to build a hot rod, so I'm gonna make due with what i got. Front end is getting completely ditched. Gonna do sometthign in the same vein as Butt Reynold's truck and the ever popular Tequila truck Rudy built.....No "exact" plans yet, but I'm busting my ass to get it done in the time frame I've got......I'll have alot of questions on here, i haven't done half this shit ever before.
the frame looks straight, i think what your seeing is how it's not sitting level, the jackstand are probaly off, and all the tires have different amounts of air in em'

cool.
Its definitely a 1/2 ton frame. Be careful with the grill when you take the front apart. They break real easy inbetween the teeth.
how are the frame rails? looks like maybe you just broke the leaf on the front when towing. axle is still probably usable. I have a front drum you can have for shipping cost if you still want one.

I'm not even gonna take the front end apart unless someone wants parts from it. The frame is solid, it's about the only thing though. I've got wind of another truck like this that's a 41 I'm gonna see about. The guy said he might just let me have it to get it out of the way! I really liek yours, so maybe ai can do it custom style if i get it. I just think this is more feasable with the time I have.

Hey, I have a 34 chevy truck. It's in the planning stage.
I see a 60's styled quad headlight fiberglass nose and a Spacetruck-esque bed.

If you're going to do that, keep me in mind for the rear fenders.
Thanks
hey, before you ditch the frontend, show me some closer pics of the headlight buckets. I may use 'em.
thanks,
dan

look in the classifieds for a pic of the frontend, not sure what I'm going to do with the headlights , I'd like to find another pair and put split the housings to make teardrop shoped lights with the guide lights on top....Probaly wont' be able to find another set around here though....
I ain't using the rear fenders at all, they's pretty banged up. But if your in desperate need or something you might want em. I can get you pics maybe tomorrow.
Tomorrow I'm gonna start patching up the cab. wanna get everything lined up right and sturdier before I pull it off the frame.
I can't decide what motorvation to put in it. I'm limited by budget unless I can sell the poncho soon. I've got a 292 sixer/th350 that could go in it, but I dunno if it'd make the frontend look too long or something...
