There is a local ad in the paper asking for a trade on a daily driver in exchange for a 1959 2304 Wurlitzer JB. I have an old beater that I was wanting to get rid of but think I'll be lucky to get a grand out of. The lady says it all works and she's possibly up for the trade. Whatdya think?

So you would be buying it for a grand? Do it! If it's in OK shape it's worth more than that (it sounds like you want it anyway). I'll PM you some more info.

I hope your not still thinking about this. That is a great deal, if it's nice at all!
I have a mid '60s and it's worth $600-$700.
Man, that is sweet.

Yeah, she wanted 1300 for it but I figure if she needs a good car it might be a good trade.

Root,
I have a close friend that restores Juke Boxes for a living. If you want I can put you in touch with him via email.

I missed out...had to wait too long for the fam to get ready http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif....snooze ya lose......
Sorry you missed out on the 'box, Root. Got an alternative for ya. When a local computer shop built my new system a few weeks ago they asked me what sort of case I wanted, tower cases being a sort of fashion statement today. I said I wanted something in aluminum or stainess but beyond that, 'surprise me.'
Well, they did, with a great looking case that's a touch reminiscent of a Seeburg "Bubbler," a jukebox I certainly couldn't afford. Serendipitously, the new case is too big to fit in the work station with the door closed, so I had to remove the door!
I'm easily amused . . .

Purely Retro Mike........... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
The blue light-tubes are really intense, so much so I'm glad the tower is at floor level rather than in my normal line-of-sight.
I'm not sure if you're shining me on, Root, but no matter, I'm having fun with this twenty-first-century 'bubbler' as it reminds me of countless evenings hanging out with pals and gals at the truck-stop cafe next to Economy Auto Wreckers, feeding nickles into the Seeburg and digging the R&B that was available nowhere else in our little '50s town.

I got a 41 Wurlitzer. Real cowboy theme to it... I did all the cabnet work on it, and got it running with coin gear and all. There is a bit more to work with on those late 50s boxes, but basically they are all the same.
Did you say you missed out on it?
(This ain't mine, but it looks exactly like it)

Holy KRAP Larry! Those are like the most rarest jukeboxes made! Is that a stroller on the far right?
For the others here, that juke on the left is worth $30-40K+

Elrod, 30-40K is being VERY generous, but it is a good machine. Its just hard to believe something like that could be put out in the public back then and make it in one piece. That is a Seeburg stroller from '39-42 on the right. They would roll that to tables in restaurants and you would make a selection from it and it would send a signal to the jukebox through the 120 line with your selection.Real tough to find because they were small and easy to throw away! The giant thing on the right is a Mills Panoram, played a 16mm "soundie"(3 min. singing movie) for a dime in 1940.Sorry for the non-car stuff.

I thought it was a Wurlitzer stroller. I have only seen them in pictures in my Auxiliary catalogues. I guess I didn't know that Seeburg made a stroller, too.
I have seen one of those Mills Panorams before. It was missing the projector and didn't come with a film. They still wanted $3-$5K for it.
Sweet collection you have there!
