Thinking of buying a plasma cutter in the near future and was wondering what you are using. Any problems or recommendations? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif I've been looking at ThermalDynamics and HTP. I want to stay under 1500.
Thanks in advance> http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

i got a HyperTherm (made by Miller) for about $1400. love it. some of the best money i ever spent. had it over 2 years now...
I have the Thermal Dynamics 38 also
it cuts thin sheet like it's not even there but I've cut up to a half inch material at a crawl

get plenty of nozzle holders and difusers and tips , i mean it nothing like running out cuz yoiu think you got enough of them, and make sure you run a dedicated water trap and filter to the machine,do not run crap air into them .
you will luv it !!!

I know the saying you get what you pay for .But is there a more afforadable plasma cutter out there ? or do i just keep on saving my bread for a ggod one ?

well you get what you pay for ,sit down and compare specs on them,do you need multiple amp settings? air built in ? heavy duty cycle or not? what do you cut ? lots of little things add up to a more expensive machine, mine will cut paper thin or 3/4 on high like a knife one pass. check around again and look at the features
