Well I tried to do this an hour or so ago and for some reason it didn't work but here goes...
I am Nick Venero I am an engineer who does a lot of machining and building at work, and a little engineering. Have always been an old car fan growing up in and around my godfathers garage. He has always had (since the early 60's) a '33 Chevy coupe that was at first a rod and then a drag car in the 70's since then it has sat in his garage as it was when he stopped racing. I used to play in it when I was a kid and have always wanted it, or one like it... I hope to spend a lot of time lurking and reading and figuring out just what I have to do in order to have one of my own.
Thanks
Nick

God Father??
Make him an offer he can't refuse. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
At a minimum, convince him to get it out and play with it.
Then, you can help. It's a start.
Welcome.

Well, he is in NY and I am down here now so if I could convince him to take it out I wouldn't get to play. Thanks for the welcome. Who is ZMAN?
Nick
Me, I'm zman. The only NC representation at the HAMB Drags, and I'm pretty sure I'll be the only one at DOD as well. There are a couple others from Raleigh on here as well. I fyou want to hang out with like minded individuals let me know. Chances are I'll be in my shop all week and weekend working on my Buick for the DOD. The truck was fun but 20 hours each way was a little much for the 235. She needs a tune now. But welcome and let me know if you want to hang out...

Funny how many friends you get when in car circles you tell people you have a CNC machine....

welcome to the hamb
See now you tell us you have a CNC machine. Your trying to become real popular overnight. But I do have a 40's drill press with a mill table, does that count for anything?

Everyone likes to be popular... It is a really small machine though. It is a table top, good for small parts but it only has 5.6" of Y axis travel. I use it for prototyping at work. In a lot of situations a drill press with a big table would be just as useful.
I was just joking with ya. I've been keeping my out on eBay and elsewhere for an old mill that's close enough to get.
If your around this weekend drop me a line and maybe you can come by and visit my shop. I'll be putting a Nailhead together in preperation for the "Day of the Drags"...
