I put the race car together today. I had the intake off and had the exhaust powdercoated. I had changed the jets in the carbs. I pushed it out of the shop hooked up water hoses to it and started it up. Checked dwell and timing and winged the throttle a few times, sounded good. I unhooked the hoses and decided to back down the drive [250 ft.] and nail it to see if it would break the tires loose. It did and the throttle stuck open. I couldn't stop after shutting down the engine so I went by the back door at about 25 mph and stopped in the back yard. I am thankful my wife didn't decide to step out the back door:eek:. Anyway found out that the accelerator pump in the front carb was hanging up at full throttle. Fixed that but no more driveway tests.:oRoy

Did that with my '59 chevy. Had a 396 with a 4-speed. The solid throttle linkage bound up in 2nd gear. I shut the key off and the throttle came back. I turned the key back on and blew the mufflers out. I was pissed so I knocked the rear end out the next time I shifted into 2nd. Had a little work to do when I got home. I wasn't pointed at the house though:).

I ran a Honda Trail 90 into a house once, when I was in high school. Those things will popa wheelie if you start them with the throttle stuck. Most HA/GR's have a bit more power than that.
