Dad bought a cheap 30's-40's (?) 4 door mercedes off of ebay. It looks pretty scary right now, but it was real cheap. I think the body is mounted on a checky truck / blazer frame.

I'm looking for one to put a newer drivetrain in.
Have fun with it.

Friend of mine had a restored '38 190, pea soup green. It was the first old car I ever got to ride in. My dad drove it for him to a indoor mall show. We drove it through Gulfview Square Mall, Blues Brothers style.

there's a car in that heaP?
I've always thought it would be a cool idea. I have a 6.3 Liter DOHC aluminum V8 that would be awesome in a rod. It is locked up though and rebuild parts alone approach 3K. Yikes!

What does that motor look like?
It is probably going to get a 350/350 'cause we already have it waiting in the wings.
Mines a wasted turd and may be a later 6.9 but here's some stock footage...

You could easily make a real Mercedes steel XK roadster replica like they tried to do with the Studebaker framed, Corvette powered Excalibers in the 60s.
Yea, I'm serious.. Do it with some "taste" and it''d be along the lines of the cars Ryan was talking about in the "My back hurts" thread.

The mercedes frame is gone already....if I ditch the body entirely for something swoopier....there ain't nothin' left!
I was thinking...maybe turn it into a coupe?
