Nice insulation installation! Car stuff? Make ready the garage port/shed. Dragging the Bubble Top home, thrash to make a run for the Hunnert Pile Up. Then 'golf-greened' the yard so it will not need mowing fer awhile. Sharpen mower blade, detail/RainX 'her' car as well. Garden tended too. Eating fresh food!

I hung a headliner in my 40 tudor, then went to the Malt Shop cruise and show in San Diego. Now it's time to start sewing up some tuck and roll, want to get the entire interior finished in time for Hot Rod Reunion. Day job takes up too much time, but pays for life.

Pulled the 3x2 manifold and carbs off the coupe and put on the 2x4 manifold. Had to drop the engine down off the mounts, lower it and take the distributor apart to get the distributor out from the recessed firewall. Nothing's easy.
Have to figure out how I'm going to run the fuel lines before I go further.

Got the f*&#ing engine out of miss Faye after much unfortunate wrangling.... Another step closer to being back on the road..
Before that Dad and I went and scored a cool 1981 Honda Passport c70 motorcycle from a friend of his. It's such a blast to ride!

Just got back from Grand Rapids. Went to see my son's new shop. They installed his new hoist this past week so now he can paint the floors and offically move in. It's going to be a treat after working out of the 2 car garage attached to his house where he had to move the civilian cars out ot work on anything.
As for myself I went to breakfast with Fuelpump and Hot Rod Tom Sat. morning and did a few things on the mini-chopper I'm building.

Friday morning on the way to work I spotted an old fender out at the curb with a bunch of bulk pick-up junk so I made a u turn & picked up 2 left fenders for a 57 chevy & a pair of tailpipes for a 57 chevy that have never been installed. The house i got them from dosent even have a driveway & I've never seen anything old there. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Saturday I messed with a flathead dual carb setup I'm putting together for nothing I have to use it on.
Today I went to a show/swap up in Goshen, came back & put in a few hours on wiring the ranchero, then went to a cruise nite down at the donut shop & I'm now watching hotrod build off.

I finally got around to bleeding the brakes since I put on a new master and redid all my brake lines. Started on new fuel line but ran into a 12 pack of Bud that kept me from finishing. Bought a new grille and have to get it in. Gotta get it all done this week so I can drive it some and work the bugs out of it again from sitting too long.

Getting my a/c hooked into my shop.
built a house number sign for the home. Used a piece of slate tile we used on the block wall pillars and copper tube bent in the shape of the numbers.
I filled the copper tube with silica sand to get smooooth bends.
The 3/4 copper uprights for the number sign have 1/2 inch elbows soldered on to hold the sign. A little clean up with scotch brite and we will plant it
The wife is happy with it.

After going to the BDC last weekend, and Woodward this weekend, I got the bug to get going again on the Mercury. I'm sick of telling people "yeah, I got a '51 merc project at home...I want a DRIVER!
It's been about 5 months since I really put any "time" into the car. Seems there's never the "right" time. I'm sick of not working on it, so I re-arranged some priorities, and got at it again.
During the week, I got motivated and sliced off the last offending section of the front of the Lincoln frame. I got the merc sheetmetal loosely bolted together and placed it up front to see how much room I had to work with for putting a radiator in...this got boring, and I am putting it on the back-burner for now, so...
Today, I spent about 6 hours finishing up the right side rear wheel house, which is being completely fabbed from boat trailer fenders...it's time consuming, because I spend a lot of time measuring, and fitting, and cutting, and fitting, and clamping, and fitting, then welding...I am taking pics, and for those of you who remember back about 4 months ago, I'll do a TECH on it so that others who have rusted-out wheelhouses can see what I went through...it's working, BTW. Then it's on to the left side. Oh boy. More to come later!

Dug a 65 Muncie M-21 out from under the bench and started taking it apart. Got stuck when I descovered my small pin punches had run away so I went and bought a couple new ones.
That shot half the day as evereywhere I went, they were out of stock. Finally found a couple. I'll try again tomorrow. Bass got me the info I need to work on the tranny. Also finally got around to putting the pics from the West Yellowstone rod run 2 weeks ago up on the Fotki site.

It was my birthday on Friday so the warden let me go do my thing all day. I split a 350 and turbo 400. The sbc is going in my 57 Bel Air. I also loosened up the seized 327 in the car and got it ready to yank. I discovered two bolts missing between the bellhousing and block. After all the punishment I put that car through years ago I am surprised nothing ever let go.
Our car club show got rained out yesterday, so we all sat around the Dairy Queen and drank coffee. The cars attracted a bunch of attention for the DQ so we got free fries from the manager. Today, I fiddled with the car again for a while, then the local guys all got together again and we had a BBQ to eat all the food we had from yesterday. All in all, a great weekend.
