let me start off by stateing the following.

1. i have no interest in EFI or its derivitives or retrofitting EFI to old hillborn, crower, or enderle et.al. systems.

2. i understand that the aforementioned mechanical systems are not at all street friendly, and are intended to be "race only" systems.

3. i have many years experience with direct injection, indirect inject, PT injection, bosch mechanical injection etc used on diesels. so i have the basic knowlege of how those systems work.

4. i also know how the bosch CIS systems work, although i am not leaning in that direction.

5. i want a system that is low pressure, nozzle above the throttle plates, that tailors the fuel delivery by means of 3 inputs. first is throttle position as in alpha n systems, second manifold pressure as in speed density systems and third engine rpm.

i think i have a start for a design using a 3 way differential lever to control the fuel system flow referenced by these 3 inputs.

what i am looking for is an individual or a group that works on similar ground up designs.

every site i see online wants me to go the EFI route or ridicule, which i think is bullshit to the 9th power.

anyone know of such a site that deals with something like i have described or someone that is working along these lines?

would there be any interest in a system such as i have described that worked relatively well that could be understood and tuneable by the average rodder?

or am i out on a limb by myself?

Woodward Govenor makes 3 dimensional cams for missle engines. Maybe a search will give you some more info of such a device. I've only seen one, which had a lever and shaft for rotation and a spool with pressure on one side, a spring on the other for changing the depth, and profile, on the lobe in relation to the follower. It was the central control for a mechanical fuel metering device.
I don't know if anything like that would be useful to you, but hey, it's a free idea, for what that's worth.

Have you got the catalog from Kinsler ?

We ran mechanical timed injection on a 2 liter Hart motor is Can Am back in the mid 80's.
Kinsler had reworked a metering unit we borrowed from another team after ours siezed.
Our motor always ran well,
but never ran as well as it did with the Kinsler modified metering unit. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
And the giy who owned it,wouldn't sell it when he saw how much faster our car was. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

this place has some serious forums stuff on and the peopel are thinking along your way also, both sites are good to hook up with some one

http://www.justinternationals.org/international-fuel-injection.htm

the second link is for tech but reading some posts alot of people are out there loking for some thing similar to your ideas
