i'm going to need to replace the wheels on my '52 chevy truck (it has the 6 hole 16" stockers on it now). is there a later model 6 hole wheel with the proper offset that i can use ? i'd really like to use a tubeless radial tire.
also can anybody give me some tips on what tire sizes work good under these trucks ? i'm running the stock 216 4spd with a closed rear end. i also plan on dropping it a couple inches.

Chevrolet/GMC trucks used that same pattern until 1972 or so. Late 60's wheels should be OK but are 15 inch........which might lower it a little.
I have a 2004 Silverado and it has 6 lugs wheels standard...........and with 16 inch radials.............I would check to see if a set of these would work. Take-offs are fairly cheap around here. All the custom places that "fix up" new trucks for the dealerships have plenty of them.

Any 6 lug Chevy/GMC wheel up through '87 for a 4x4 will work. Im not sure if the hub center openings on the wheels on the '87 and later will work with the hub on yours.
Personally the '80-'87 ralley wheels look the best, especially if you can find them in the rare 8.5" wide ones. Standard is 7.5".

The 2wd chebys used the 6 lug through the 1970 model year and 16s were optional, and probably were on the 4x4s after that.
Back on the farm we had a 66 and a 70 that both 16s. I don't know if the 88 and newer will bolt on but the offset is way strange on them and they may rub when turning plus they will look weird sucked into the wheel well.

55-60 Chevy/GMC trucks used a 15X5 wheel with tubeless tires. You can also use your stock hubcaps because these wheels have the clips on the inside. GOOD LUCK !!!!

'lil bill,
i have a set of 4 15" chevy pickup rallye rims like the ones mentioned above. two are skinnier and two are wider (must be the 8-1/2's?). Anyway, I'm VERY tired of looking at them, so if you can arrange a way to get them from me to you, they're yours.
Ed
PS- Three of the rims appear to be new or at least recently powdercoated. The fourth is decent. I have the plastic "hubcaps" that go with them too.

Watch the tierod clearance on the later rims. A lot of the newer 6 bolt rims, like the rallys, will hit the tierods on those years trucks. You should be safe with a late 50's to early 60's stock rim . Check the backspacing on your stockers and look for something close.

Sure, I'll measure them tonight. Do you have a way of transporting them? I don't mind hauling them down to UPS, but I'm sure they're not going to be cheap to ship!
