40 Ford drums and chrome backing pltes value

What's a pair of nice 40 Ford drums with new bearings and chrome backing plates going for these days.

I'm staring at them right now. My camera is dead or I'd shoot pics.

Not trying to get rich, just get fair value to help finance things.

I'd say a couple hundred in nice shape. Maybe half that if they're on the grotty side. Make it 3-4 bills if they're really cherry and the plates are loaded with all new stuff.

Look around some more. I paid $200+shipping for a full set (all 4 wheels) for '39 juice brakes, drums, spindles, kingpins...the whole shebang off a running car.

and yes i'm running the wide 5 pattern odd wheels, but if you have drums from 40-48 they will fit the 39 brakes.

doh, thought you were looking to buy, didn't absorb that post right. Try selling them on fordbarn or ebay to get your value out of them.
