Wife may have abducted my kid

All that the title says. His name is Russell Fennema, we live in S. Elgin, IL. 312.310.6993.
Last I heard from my child was that he was going to Wisconsin Dells, this was at 8:47 am, she was to bring him back to me at 5:30 pm. I live more than 2 hours from the Dells, so this was suspicious at first, as he would not be allowed more than 4 hours there.
I have the Police on the case, I have called missing persons, they are assigning a case worker.
I have custody, she is not supposed to take him anywhere without telling me.
His picture is attached. She is an overweight 51 year old, with curly red hair, hazel eyes, and is about 5' 6". The car she has been driving is a 2000(?) Isuzu Rodeo, Illinois licence plate starts with F59 ****.

Cos, as you probably know, the courts here in Il. will favor the custodial parent. Fortunatly, you are in that position. I will keep an eye out around Rockford. Where is she livin'? She may go somewhere near there.

I am in the final stage of divorce and have an 8 year old daughter. Everything I do is with her happiness and welfare in mind. She can't go two days without calling me and I get her almost half the time. What ever you do, don't do from emotion and keep what's best for the kid paramount. He'll be back, hang in there.

[/ QUOTE ] Cosmos, I raised my sons by myself. I always told them how to contact me if they found themselves in a strange situation. In my case it was easy--I worked for the telephone company. Imagine a kid dialing 0 for operator and saying, "My daddy works for the phone company and I dont know where I am." I hope it turns out OK for you. Theres a lot of pyscho women out there.

I've been listening for an amber alert, but none yet.

They are working on the amber alert, I got called by Missing Persons a few minutes ago, and apparently the amber alert will go out after they confirm with the South Elgin police.
My ex did call the police after being alerted by her babysitter, she would not answer her cell phone, and claimed to be in Wisconsin Dells. I tried to talk to my son, and was able to, AFTER a police officer ordered her to let me talk to him.
The thought is that she will return him, but I am taking all precautions as necessary.
My lawyer just talked to me, and, since this is a public forum, I will say the news was good.
Thanks ever so much for the support, I have not been on much these last two and a half years due to circumstances surrounding the divorce, so am unfamiliar to some of the newer guys, but I am bouyed by the words of encouragement.
Again, I am hoping that this is just a case of a non-custodial parent getting their shorts twisted and attempting to irritate me.
There is more, but she needs be kept in the dark, just in case she kept this addy as a way to keep 'tabs' on what I say.

Cos ,never met you but my heart goes out to you. We are in the middle of the same thing .Our grandaughter went for visitation with her dad and he ran with her a year ago. He tried to get her into several schools but they always wanted her records. When he finally sent for her records the local Judge was notified and we found out she was in Temple Texas.

Lucky break right? Not really, the Local Police says it's a family matter even though he doesn't have custody and took her without anyone knowing. The Texas courts won't honor an Iowa Judges custody agreement so he is still there with her and we can't do anything about it .

Anyway ,best of luck.
