a '52 Chevy truck..??
as far as I know, you'd need the correct fenders,
not sure about the hood latch/radiator support...

just looking at pics of the bare grille openings they look the same. i am hoping somebody here has already tried the swap and could tell me first hand.

Good clean '54 grills are not easy to come by. If its a chome grill and you can buy the truck cheap, you should be able to sell it for more than enough to buy the earlier grill. The earlier grills are readily available as a reproduction too, meaning an original should not be too hard to find.

Seems like it always took about 3 grilles to make one good one. The best ones I ever found usually had at least one bent bar. The filler panel behind the bumper is the bitch to find, even the nicest of restos or rods usually don't have one. In the midwest the best place to find straight stuff is on the 1 1/2 - 2 ton farm trucks.
Of course I suppose they repro the filler panel now too.

I bought a '49 once and it allready had a'54 grill on it. I swapped the grill to its original place and I don't remember having to change anything. The fenders and the hood latch fit just fine.
I think...
This was about 10 or 11 years ago. I could be wrong....naah I'm right.

the grill may be TOO TALL, on the BIGG trucks(not sure if its the 1 1/2 or 2 ton trucks) they have more space between each bar, BUT you can take the bars & use them w/the smaller support brackets to make it work, thats what i had to do to get a good grill......joe
