Every year on the Hobby Heaven model car message board, durring the weekend of the Woodward Ave. Cruise, everyone posts pictured of all kinds of models. It's almost annoying having to look through them all, but about one out of every 5 ends up being cool. Appologies in advance for any crappy street rods or ricers you may see. But have a look!!!

I wanted to ask you a question...

I've been looking all over for a 1926-27 Roadster with the rear deck
and All I found was a guy in astrailla that makes them out of resin
and there 35.00 but he had no picture of it so I didn't buy it...

If you know of come across one would you let me know I been on the hunt for a while and I figured I would ask a expert http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, for a '26 '27, this is a close you'll get to a turtle deck.

And for the front half, you'd need one of these:

It's a well guarded secret that K&R is actually retarded, so I thought I'd help him out a little bit with his pictures.

Here ya go buddy, go put your padded helmet on, get a fresh drool rag and stay off the computer until your mommy and daddy can help you post.

the only problem was that the first pic had the ? and all those numbers after the .jpg, after deleting that all the pictures worked fine...

THE GREEN HORNET!!! HELL YEAH!! I built an NOS KIT 10 years ago...It was on display in a glass case at the local drive in here..I loved that kit..I painted it a Green metalflake with a hint of gold in it..It was sick!!!!!!

the Green Hornet was a cool model.they had a lot of great hot rod models at one time. the box art was wild

Wowie! And those engines are wired and plumbed-that's the sign of an outstanding model. Just fantastic. Makes me wanna throw all my models in the trash...
but I won't.
Is the green hornet kit easy to modify? I have seen quite a few reissues of said model, but I like to stick to modern issue kits. If the green hornet is pretty simple, I may just pick it up.

The Hornet can be modified like any other 1/24 25th scale kit...I like it out of the box on the vintage kits though...I also had a re issue of Monograms "Hot Rod" I think it was..it was issued in the late 50's its a deuce roadster..pretty cool decals in that one too.... I have some AMT accesories here NOS grilles and bumpers and a Drag Strip kit!! now if I only were building models again...???If anyone has a project and needs this stuff let me know..I will let it go cheap for someone who really needs it

Oh, as far as "modifiability" goes- does it need a lot to look pretty realistic? My father built the old monogram '32 back when he was a kid, and 40 years later he worked on the same kit fer more 'n 5 years- on and off of course. That kit seemed to need a lot of massaging to look convincing, although the kit mill was pretty hot. I might post pictures. Anyway, that's what I meant.

I read you...with the exception of AMT kits most of the old kits needed a little detail for realism...Like I said I painted mine a 60's Metalflake Green/Gold mix I made myself..It looked killer...of course I always do the detail wash in between the fins on the valve covers and all my chrome to give it that right look and kill that fake shine the painted chrome gives....You can add plug wires hoses etc if you want to get crazy... ya know.... get one and check it out they are cheap
