1. Many Ford Performance cams require using the 351W firing order.
2. If it's a Holley carb, your power valve may be blown.
3. A bad or out-of-adjustment accelerator pump will also cause this problem.

Correct firing order? (Small block Fords have two different ones...changing the cam is all that's required to change the firing order. Your new cam may use the newer (sometimes called 351W) firing order. Older small blocks used a different firing order.)
Rocker arms too tight? If so, they can hold a valve open, but that would shown up on a compression check, most likely.
Leak around manifold gaskets? If it's sucking air from the manifold or carb base gaskets, it can create the situation you're experiencing.
Aside from cam and ignition timing, those are a few other ideas I can toss ya to get ya started on the road to solving your problem.
Hope ya get it licked!

holy bat shit if it s just the firing order it will blow my mind. THe carb i thought about the power valve so i replaced it. and then i wondered about the rest of the carb so i rebuilt it..
Do you have the fireing order for the 351 off the top of your head.?
Thanks for the help guys
