I'm in the process of collecting parts to build my 29 tudor sedan with. I bought a 77 vega 2dr wagon. It was complete except I took the trans out of it. I know alot of people use vega boxes but I don't know if this car has the one I need on it. I know its got manual steering.
I also have the steering column and box set up out of a 46 ford car.
Would either of these be worth using on my A? I know alot of people are building cowl steering setups but I don't really care as long as my car steers and is safe. I have an Idea of what I want the car to look like but I think I'll need some help getting there. The main part that I'm trying to figure out is the steering. I have a couple of books on building stuff like this but I would rather see real world applications than drawings in a book. I have the book how to build a traditional model A and a couple others.
I also have all the front suspension and rear suspension out of the 46 also. I was planning on using the front suspension in the A because they had juice brakes. What is your peoples opinions?
I'm also on a pretty tight budget so I would rather find junk yard stuff to use because its cheaper unless its something that has to be bought new in order to be safe.
Thanks.
