Pete,
The car "Has-the-look", I really like it. Give us some details if you can.
Pete that is looking better than I could have imagined.
Not having a car worthy of taking to the run, I'll probably stay at home and brood http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

that is badass.
Glenn
The coupes on stock rails, kiked about 24" at the rear with a 40 rear cross member, the fronts got a flat cross member reverse spring and 4" drop beam
Rears a 37 with 40 brakes and the wishbones mounted on top of the torque tube.Front wheels are 3 x 17 rears are 4 x 16 The bodys chopped 6" channeled 5"
The flat motor came out of a 40 truck its stock apart from the headders and the Thickstun (thanks to Vaphead for that )
Its low but the scrub police can get "fucked" nothing hangs bellow the line
Cheers Pete

I tend to agree with scrubline rules, but hell, if we all wanted 100% 'safe' we'd buy a Vulvo, not build a hot rod http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yeah I was gonna ask too if you fabricated them yourself. They look great. They almost look like they were old jack stands. Very cool car BTW. Good luck.

I too was thinking they looked like shrunk down jack stands!
When I seen them, It made me THINK TO MYSELF, hmmmm, what a great idea, to have them designed like something (jack stand) that we already know is capable of supporting a heavy load. Thats why I though they might be pre-fab. Seems a good use of tested material/idea from jack stand engineers. Even if the idea was not taken for a jack stand.
They look very professional indeed.

The body I found near Huntington beach last year, it had been made up of bits, its a sports coupe but with a sedan back window, it needs a belt line adding to make it look right

Come-on Pete, let's see an update!
Ted
No I won’t be going to Cali this year. I sold the coupe last September and used the money to go to the CHRR. Bought a 27-roadster body some other stuff and a VW for Anita
.
When I got back I dropped a big block in to my 50 so I could tow the modified, then we bought a house that needs everything, no heating hot water or power. Also I need to build a new shop, my son is now 20 months old and also takes up a lot of time, so Iv taken a year out to do the house and family thing. I still drive the 32 as much as possible and some how Iv managed to collect several other projects.
If funds allow I hope to make it to Paso or the reunion next year.
How you doing? you planning on coming back to the lovely Walthomstowe ?.
Cheers Pete

I had a sit in your Coupe, when Chris Taylor owned it.I had to get in through the roof.Am I right in thinkin' that it was never on the road before?
I will look forward to seeing out 'n' about this year!

Thanks for the replies guys, Yeah chris taylor used to own it a couple of owners before me, As far as i know its never been on the road, As for the paint its a mix of Zinc rich grey primer/ Zinc rich red primer and black gloss paint:D:D a funny colour i know! but i had to build this on a serious budget.
We had to unchannel it 3 inches and raised the windscreen bar 1 1/2" just to be able to see,
Yeah im planning to make some sort of old army canvas removable roof! need something to keep the soddin rain out!
As i said its my first build, so needless to say ive learnt alot
