View Full Version : AB headlight/ ignition switch?
Here's another one of my Hershey finds. It's an old headlight/ignition switch. I really think the dude in the middle is cool. It has the letters A B on it. Any clues as what it stands for? It is made in the U.S.A.

No ideas? I was sorta thinkin it's from an airplane.

Could it be Allen Bradley (think I got that right), an electrical components manufacturer? Though I don't know how far back they go.

Lulabelle....I've got a second story (14x40)on my garage just for parts. Keeps the junk out of the way.Lucky... for all I know it could be.I've got a cool little fuse panel that looks just like the switch panel. It has a door that opens with 4 fuses inside. Clark

well now we know..
whenever we raid sowhat's shop we know to skip past the attack dog on the first floor and head right upstairs.
AB=American Bosch. The guy in the center is "Fritz the Flyer", Bosch's mascot usually seen on aircraft magnetos. Probably from WWI to '20's era?
re49...Thanks!! I didn't expect to get the name of the dude. Where did you get that info. I'd like to see a detter pic of "Fritz". I've got a fuse panel that sorta matches it have you seen these before?
Clark
I've never seen that switch or panel, but AB and Robert Bosch (German parent co.) magnetos are fairly common on all kinds of old machinery. I think American Bosch started in WWI due to anti-German feelings at the time. They're still in business making fuel injections for diesels. Not sure about Fritz-that's what the old aircraft guys call him.
