no mullet here bud http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I keep my hair damn near shaved off . My plan is to lower the front end by 2" by cutting a coil of the each spring, install some orange steelies and some smaller profile tires. Oh and stick some flame throwers in the stacks http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
A rebel flag front license plate and a gun rack would set it off fo shizzle! Oh and about 60 empty 7/11 coffe cups on the floor of the cab and the dash would complete the look. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Aw give the kid a brake everyone needs a parts hauler. Old skool, not skool who gives an aeronautical intercourse.
Now when you gonna start on the Apache. I'm thinkin' that the S10 frame swap isn't gonna work, wrong wheelbase. But you could easily slam a camero sub in there and channel it a bunch.

It is painted. That is an enamel paint that I had mixed to a suede black. Primer is to pourous and I wanted the flat black look, so I had some flattening agent added to the paint.

and no I not a skin head either bud. I am a 30 year old that is growing a bigger fore head, so I figure , why fight nature and start shaving it off. I'd rather be bald voluntarily than have nature take it's course and have the comb over http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

How do you get 90's style out of this truck?? everything on the truck with the exception of the rally wheels is from 67-72.

the 58 will be getting some long over due attention this coming weekend. I have a lead of some replacement front fenders and a few other parts. The Nova front clip will actually do alright on this truck. It just needs to have a bit more welding done on it. I am gonna run it with the subframe that is under it now. The inline 6 is coming out and our 283 is going in. The th350 is coming out as well and in it's place with be a T-5 , 5 speed manual tranny. We want to be able to cruise on the highway with this truck and take it to car shows.

Dubie, I'm on your side. I really dig flat bed trucks. And I like tastefully done stack pipes. Not the 70's lookin' stuff with the wire mesh around them, but the 50's lookin' simple chrome pipes...
And flame throwers on the stacks....thats a BIG TEN FOUR! YES do it!
Anyhow. I like your truck. If I were you I would seriously think about getting some Cragar SS's for it. Big fat ones in the back and some neat skinny ones up front. Lower the FRONT of that truck and YES, get your self a big rebel flag plate for the front and be PROUD of your "traditional backwoods ways". http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Seriously, I dig that truck.
Here is my flatbed "traditional Redneck" machine.

Flames aren't finished until they're outlined! Not a bad lookin ride...now Baron Von Tingler has somebody else to flatbed cruise with! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I like the Cragars idea...and the tires and wheels in the back have to be quite a bit bigger than the ones in the front.

Mullets rule! Where's your gun rack though? Do you by chance tie your dog to one of your post holes and let him slide around a little while cruising for cousins?
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Just bustin' your balls man. Get the Cragars though.
Von T's truck would be so rock'n w/ the bed and frame notched for a giant slam and wide whites.
Flat is OK, as long as you've got something w/ curves to play w/ on the side http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My original plan was to go with the cragars with fatties out back and skinnies up front. I had the rallies so I painted them and thru them on for now. Hopefully I can save up the bucks to get a set of Cragars in the spring. I will eb tearing into the 58 GMC over the winter so alot of my truck budget will end up going to that

The 58 will have get a donor 283 engine from a 57 Bel Air that I picked up from a local guy that just finished restoring his car. The body will be treated to a garnet and ivory 2 tone scheme with some drop flames. Choice of wheel sis up in the air right now, but that will come. But as she sits right now, it needs 2 front fenders, new bed wood, some body smoothing, gonna swap out the ugly 76 Malibu steering column that the PO isntalled with a Camaro tilt , and install some bucket seats . It's gonna be at least 2 years before it's all done. I'll try to hunt down some pics of it here and post them

Sorry for the smart ass comments earlier.
There was a recent 90's trend (let's call it ol' skool style)for putting a thin layer of bullshit retro symbolism (flat black, flames, peep mirrors, figurative pinstriping, dice, tiki crap, etc. ) on later model cars. It doesn't even look good on 50's cars anymore because of it.
Most cars look best when they are right for thier own time. '67's are cool in thier own way- no need to dress them up in a phoney costume.
Anyway, you'll rule with the flaming stacks no matter what the truck looks like. Keep it up.
