There is a post in the questions part but not many responses. I was wondering who everyone uses for their insurance. Also is there anyone that has there can insured for daily use and who do you use? Thanks.

Use the search with insurance as the word and you'll get alot of info. I use Hagerty.

Check Grundy. I did an online quote the other day for my 51 Chevy and it was $170 per YEAR. That is with a $10,000 value, and $100,000 liability with comp and collision.

I did a post asking the same question a couple months ago, and got lotsa responses. Check here (http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=409680&fpart=& PHPSESSID=) (I should mention that at the time of that post, I had just gotten a late model for adaily driver, but I have since sold it and gone back to driving my 52 daily.)

I'm still on Nationwide, and I highly recommend them if your car is driven daily. I had a deer jump out in front of me a couple years ago, and they treated me well with the claim. I also just cracked my windshield, and they will be installing new glass as soon as they get the new pieces in.

One of the other posts mentioned an appraisal. You'll need this for Nationwide, but make sure you get it appraised for something closer to what it would take to DUPLICATE the car quickly, rather than market value. It will probably raise your premium a little, but it will be worth it when you are having to get your car fixed by a reputable shop.

we have state farm on all our cars shops and houses..... when the tree fell on my sedan delivery we had a stated value on the car and they paid us the full amount the next day.... my dads 96 ford power stroke got hit a week ago and the lady didnt have insurance that hit him so he had to turn it into his insurance and we got the same adjuster... he came up with a estimate 200 bucks more than the one i wrote and they didnt total it and paid dad the next day also..... highly recomend state farm....

I did the search and read a few of the other posts. I would like to be able to drive daily if I could. I work third so it would be hard to prove I was at a show at 7 am. My daily is thru Liberty Mutual, I will try them first. If I do not like what they tell me I will see what State Farm has to say.

Some of the specialty insurance companies are pretty lax on the "only car shows and parades" line... but some are pretty tight, too. The main thing is they want to scare off some fool in a beat up "old" car or truck that's just lookin' for cheap insurance. (Not talking about in-progress cars or so-called rat rods, but just old clunkers owned by someone who was told that his car is worth a mint, even though most of us wouldn't drive it home if it were given to us. You know, when the car's value doubles when the gas tank is full?)

I checked with State Farm a couple years ago, but they didn't offer insurance for "classic cars" at the time. Sounds like they do now... at least in SOME states?

you should know... My ex gf's dad is the regional manager (or something along those lines) of statefarm in the the DFW area, and he informed me that the quality of the service you get really depends on the agent, not necessarily on the company. sooooo, you might want to do some checking around and get recomendations on a specific agent in your area. just my 2 cents.

I checked with Liberty Mutual and it was $604 but I could drive it every day. They said I would need to get it appraised before they would insure it. I am also considering Grundy, would I need an appraisal with them?

I also recomend State Farm. Hit a deer with my cpe 2 yrs ago and with a repair estimate of $15,000 adjuster looked at it on Monday afternoon and I had the check in Fridays mail.
