Try putting the jack under one side of the car and jacking it up just a little bit, so the wheel is not all the way off the ground, and then try putting air in it. You might also have to push on the sidewall a little or maybe pull on the back side some to get it to seat. Hope that helps and you understand what the hell I'm trying to say. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sometimes pulling the core out of the valve stem will work, it lets air in faster, then after it seats you can put the core back in and fill it up. Other then that I'm out of ideas. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

<font color="green">Another stupid idea I had, and it worked....

Get a ratchet type hold down strap and wrap it around the circumference of the tire.

Ratchet the sucker down.

You will notice that as you tighten the strap the tread part of the tire tries to shrink, forcing the sidewalls out.

Also, try swabbing a little soap/water mix around the bead to help it slip on there better.

you want the surest, most spectacular way to seat the bead? lay the rim flat on the ground, spray a generous amount of starter fluid INSIDE of the tire, all the way around...stand back and start flipping lit matches at it. it'll go POOF! just be ready to add air imediately, 'cause almost as fast as it expanded, it'll contract, and can pull itself back off the bead. if you're scared to try it, find an 'old' tire shop that has some experience with bias plys. mf
