this car was broken down in my town

I was eating breakfast with my friend and a 32 three window putted by the window and pulled into the gas station. I told my friend a neat old car pulled in the gas station and if it was still there when we were done we should go check it out.

well, it was. A young guy around my age owns it. He's from London and I forgot his name. it wasnt charging for some reason and he was trying to figure it out as we pulled up. I said my name was Paul and believe it or not I own one of these cars too. he said, "you live in santa barbara and own a 32 three window?" I said yes.

"pleased to meet you, I read that board all the time but never, ever post. You blokes are all tossers."

His car is a total pile of shit. Perfect.
He even drives around with a fucking bucket of water on the passenger (driver's side here, it's right hand drive) floor board. I asked him what happens if he hits the brakes too hard and he just looked at me. There is also a bed sheet over bare springs for a seat. Nice touch.

It runs smooth though, you can barely hear the thing running. I have no idea what happened to him. He got in and putted down the road looking for a Napa Auto Parts to replace the battery. He was a very funny guy and I didnt know if I should hit him or kiss him.

hey pete, if graham looks like a young Elvis Costello, it was him. He was like an english computer nerd with a really cool car. The passenger side door fit so bad, it may have been simply screwed to the car.... I dont remember. In a strange way, I wouldnt have changed anything. My employee was with me who is also English and he asked me, when we left, if it was normal for hotrodders to travel with a bucket of water and a bed sheet on bare springs. I answered, yes.
