Anyone know have experience w/ lost wax casting?

The cool stuff a good lost wax caster can do is almost unlimited. Kick ass emblems out of brass. Killer oil tanks like on Cole's blue bobber. The list goes on.

I made a ring once out of nickle...like in 8th grade. I remember it was pretty cool at the time, and easy. Other than that I don't really remember much, but post your questions. Someone will know.

Hard wax will hold fine detail better,but cost more.

dead harddrives, transmission cases, other scrap aluminum, hang onto it, dont let the chinese have it!

Rather we make it into skulls and block-off plates and drag plates then for them to make jets out of!

Worked at a foundry for a few years, doin lost wax. K-MEMBER and I used to do small stuff at home, using silver solder. Little skulls from Holloween wax candy. Pretty easy to do small stuff............OLDBEET

hell yeah man, the gallery is open to the public, foundry is too for the most part, but it kinda helps to have some notice that company is coming. lookin forward to seein ya.

I work for a jewelery manuf. in attleboro Mass & we do lost wax here, its pretty cool & easy to do.Biggest thing is a oven & melting the material.It really hold detail well.the temp has to be way up there to "lose" the wax.
