Just saw some thing on it on tv. Watching American Chopper.

Looks like good TV.

In southern California, battle lines have been drawn over who will take the title of America's Most Beautiful Roadster. Barry White's Street Rod Repair Company is entering his 7/8 scale roadster. Jimmy Shine's So-Cal Speed Shop is customizing a Ford F150

The previews showed Shine building a black trad. '32 roadster, versus the other building that red high tech "36" roadster thing.

Hey that sounds fun!
They got a lot to live up to - I think it will take a pretty good in depth build to beat out the MG Custom Chevy build.
If these two just shut up and get at it and the announcer isn't a gay-bag it just might be a righteous show.

Jimmie Shine doesnt even own his own name. Cool
Yuppie bikers are on their way. I, for one, will not enjoy that. I have wasted too much of life on these cars
those of you trying to finish cars right now, buy what you need quick. The parts are still out there but wont be for long.
I think I am going to get into old British sports cars, I have always loved them and know nothing about them. I could sell my hotrod and buy a Jaguar 120. I love 120's.

come on, it's not going to get to that extent. a lot of stuff is overpriced already so what does it matter in 5 months? i don't mean to argue but it's all going to be ok.

I like it when all the prices go up.
Now all that "crap" I've collected that the wife nags about can be considered an "investment" http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Just don't be disappointed over who wins because alot of kids and women vote and they are easily swayed by baubles.
Gooch I love those 120s too. Dam near bought a butchered up one for cheap once. It had a sbc with roadster headers and some god awful rear end that was about a foot too wide. The guy also had the cutest little mini hemi V8 out of a Damiler (Daimler?)

true story: i was at a little flea market on the big island of hawaii about 12 years ago and i see a guy pull in and park a primer gray 120 fixed head coupe. being a car buff i go strike up a conversation with him about the car. (this part will make you sick),it turns out he was doing some work at an old ladies house and saw the car under a carport. to make a long story short he bought it for $500, cleaned the carbs, put batteries in it and drove it out. i offered to pay him his money back but he turned me down http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Neither win. Charlie Lambetecchio's '36 roadster did! I think they changed the format after that happened to sorta mimmick the biker jerkoff series. Curious though...why do they call Barry White's '36 "7/8" scale? It's right next door, and looks all of 8/8 to me.

Don't fret it. Any new recruits will be pure gold chainers paying someone to assemble aftermarket parts...You know..."kit cars" They won't mess with the rusty stuff.
That's the results from the Grand National Roadster Show, not the TV show. Sorry if I let the cat out of the bag as to who won America's Most Beautiful Roadster...seven months ago.
