Please stand up, please stand up........

So this is where it is at this point. I've busted my ass the last couple of weeks and this is how far I got. I wanted it to be more complete for the Pile up, but a few set backs held me back....

I'm pretty proud of it anyway.

For those who don't know this car is based on one of the new "Rat Boy" kits from Speedway..... It comes complete with a rule book.

http://photo.starblvd.net/~bobbleed/5-1-2.jpg

http://photo.starblvd.net/~bobbleed/5-2-1.jpg

This is what the kit looked like when it arrived in mid January. The over all quality was really nice and everything seemed to fit well.

http://photo.starblvd.net/~bobbleed/5-2-4.jpg

This is how it looked after pre assembly and is basicly how it was as of 3 1/2 weeks ago.

http://photo.starblvd.net/~bobbleed/1-3-5.jpg

The kit supplied valve covers really make the sbc look like a Nailhead. Intake supplied by the "Intake Fairy" (RADSHIT RULES!)

http://photo.starblvd.net/~bobbleed/5-2-2.jpg

The speedway guys really know how to build a frame.

http://photo.starblvd.net/~bobbleed/5-2-3.jpg

So off to the Pile Up it is.
It will be painted and put on the road in the next few weeks.

Also, I made Plexi templates for glass tonight so the cardboard is gone.

I'm pretty excited about this car, but I need a nap.

Thanks fellas, I can't wait to drive it! Still lot's to do though..........

The rear tires are NOS vintage cheaters they are in awsome shape as far as cracks, but they are HARD as a rock. I had to put them in front of the torpedo heater to soften them enough to mount.

Very cool Bob, A lot of nice choices on the trim pieces, very Art Deco, and the shifter handle rules. You have good taste, Nice Job.

I'm in love. Friggin awesome. Glad to see such a sweet design on it's way to being painted and polished. "Unfinished" cars are cool enough, but painted frames and wheels and some chrome are cooler...

Very, very cool. Tons of unique touches without looking over done.

I'd love to drool on that in person.

You did a swell job putting that kit together. Looks like it got some water damage before being delivered to you tho. Did you call Speedway about that?

wingnutz
10-10-2003, 10:10 PM
The unfortunate thing about that kit is..., it just went up in price by "Twenty Grand" by calling it a Deuce!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've been thumbing through my Speedway catalogue and couldn't find the Ratboy(tm) kit anywhere! Which page is it on please?

Does it come in different colours or even better, pre-painted, or maybe even a genuine vintage authentic patina(tm) finish? Cool.

Nice work mate. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

10-11-2003, 04:05 AM
Jeez, thanks guys.

Its gonna be red, like the frame only with silver fogging.
It will also have a complete pearl white Tuck'n'roll interior.
Those who know the band, know I've dragged a mic like that all over the country so I thought it was appropriate for the Bleedster...

It's almost 3 AM and the MAD Fabricators film crew is in full swing.
can't wait for you guys to see the doughnut footage!

Holy shit I'm tired, glad you guys like the car. Good Night!

Yeah it looks a little "squashed" to me as well but I like it. It reminds me a chopper with the slammed rear and the extended front end.

damn bob! i don't get it? how do you find time to play in a band, AND build hotrods, AND PAY FOR THEM!? being in oz i'm not sure if bleed is the kinda band that can make enough bills for you to consider it yer job, but if not, i'm amazed!

and if it is, i'm jealous...

actually, either way i'm jealous, coz now you've got TWO rides i'd love to have. ah hell, shut up colin, just give him your 'attaboy' and be done with it...
