so yesterday i got a new harbor freight catalog in the mail. in it i'm eying up this security camera they hav adveritised for $30. kinda interesting. could use a little more security around the work area, my car has to sit outside, etc. hell, i keep it in a semi fenced in area, but a few saturdays ago, as i am moving some stuff around for a day of fitting the olds lights to my chevy, i step/slide in a stinky assed fresh pile of WINO PUKE right in my work area! the smell alone about made me lose it. looked like rotten fruit and reeked of alcohol, mutherfucker! maybe my neighbor was at a WOP or something?
so yeah, i see the ad for the camera. sounds like a good idea.
i wake up this morning to the sound of my girlfriend wheeling the garbage can out to the curb...good girl http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif a few moments later, she's telling me that some crackhead just ran from my car as fast as she's seen any crackhead run, and she's seen crackheads run. so obviously no need for me to RUSH out of bed. motherfuckers long gone. so i meander out and find the door of my chevy wide open. nothing disturbed otherwise.
now mind you this is some cocky sonofabitch. the car is RIGHT next to my house, with a fence around 2 other sides of it, with a bright ass yard light directly above! but it don't suprise me, a lot of somewhat respectable homeless people in this town. i can deal with that, but i can't deal with them sleeping in my shit! given the car is missing a window, but it is not exactly an inviting spot to sleep or anything. i'm not TOO worried cause theres nothing of value in there.
SO, i hit up HF today and nabbed some of them cameras. actually a neat cheap little package that has all you need for a starter closed circuit setup, just plug into your tv/vcr. sound even, for 30 bones. along with some other "security" measures, this is starting to be fun!
really though, these cameras would be great for those guys who go nuts every time you hear a noise or something, just keep it wired to your tv, and flip to that channel anytime you need a little sense of mind, you can check out the garage, driveway, door or whatever without getting off your ass! pretty damn tiny also.
