Can someone tell me what this frontend came off of. Thanks.

Looks like either a '39 or '40 front end. I'd need to see better pictures to know for sure. Does it have hydrolic brakes? That alone will give some clues. What about the lug nut spacing? if it's a wide five it's between '36 and '39. If it's 5x5-1/2" it's probably a '40. Good luck, dug

I'm no expert but I saw one just like it with the little swaybar and all, under a 48 Ford coupe.

I second that 48 was the first year for the sway bar http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

That's 40 Ford. 40's had a sway bar, 39 didn't. Round spindles on up to 41, but 41's had a dip in the wishbone. So, that means 40, unless somebody switched parts around.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm buying a project car from this guy and he said that I could haul this thing off for free if I wanted it. Is it worth my time and if so is it worth more as a whole unit or broken down? I thought I sell it to add a few bucks to the kitty for my next project, but maybe it isn't even worth the trouble, what do you think.

I'd take it if its free. The spindles and brakes are always needed and will fit many ol cars...

Clean up the spindles and backing plates and they are worth quite a few dead presidents.
